The Kansas Magic bolstered their roster this week by adding 2 players familiar to followers of
college and indoor soccer in the Kansas City area. Both locals participated in the Missouri Comets'
invitational tryouts prior to the 2010/2011 season.
Midfielder/Forward
James Katajwa played at Park University (MO) and was named to the
2007/2008 PASL All-Star team during his 3 years with the Kansas City Kings.
Sporting Kansas City announced today the date of their final US Open Cup qualifier against New
England. The Wizards will play the Revolution on May 25th, at a location still to be determined.
For KC the game comes between trips to Seattle and Colorado. For New England the game is between a
trip to San Jose and a home game against the Galaxy.
With the weekend off, KC threw out a virtual first team lineup in their game against the Houston
Dynamo, with Eric Kronberg and Shavar Thomas being the only two players that hadn't started a game
yet this season for KC. The Dynamo put out a few first teamers, but also put out more reserves than
KC did.
Tomorrow KC will announce their second home grown tomorrow at 1:30 in a press conference. The
player will join Jon Kempin in the list of home grown players from Sporting KC. Most fans expect
this to be the announcement of the signing of Kevin Ellis. Ellis has been training with KC for the
entire preseason and has been impressive at times as a right back for KC.
