Police had to use tear gas to break-up a crowd that gathered outside a restaurant to see new signing Mario Balotelli. AC Milan fans had assembled as their new signing attempted to dine with vice-president Adriano Galliani. The pair ended up dancing in the street with ultras at one point. They were incited to join [.
According to the Nike Store, Inter Milan's new away kit "honors" the team with "bold team colors
and symbols." Fans of the Serie A champions, however, are inclined to disagree, as they can't help
but notice that it's almost exactly the same hue worn by fierce rivals AC Milan.
The Curva Nord  — the collective of Internazionale's die-hard fans and ultras — are so
displeased with the new strip that a representative has written to club owner and president Massimo
Moratti to explain their intention to boycott it.
After spending the majority of the Primera Nacional B season firmly rooted in the top two of

Rosario Central move above them in the standings.
Escalating street violence in the wake of a partial verdict in the Port Said soccer brawl case pits enemies against one another, highlighting the urgency of moves for reform of law enforcement in a bid to end the turmoil and return the country to a path of economic growth, says James Dorsey
A pledge by Mohamed Morsi to re-open all cases against those responsible for attacks on anti-Mubarak protesters did little to prevent soccer fans from joining the outpour of anger against the president's decision to grab wide-ranging powers, says writer James Dorsey.

The recent upheaval following a club match in Egypt that left 74 people dead and more than a
thousand others injured could have easily convinced Bob Bradley to pack up his things and return to
the comfort of the United States.
Instead, the former U.S. national team coach and current Egypt national team coach reportedlyÂ
remains committed to his job while doing his part in the rebuilding of a nation.
The violence at Port Said last night has generated enormous commentary on twitter, and a
beginning of media coverage of varying quality. One of the best summaries came last night at The
Lede blog of New York Times it's quality largely due to the fact that it is composed of the tweets
and videos generated on the ground in Egypt.
Tragic news is coming out of Egypt following today's match between Al-Masry and Al-Ahly in Port
Said, Egypt. After Al-Masry won the match, 3-1, its fans invaded the pitch, forcing Al-Ahly players
to flee to the locker room, where they became trapped. Apparently, Al-Ahly Ultras took to the pitch
too, and the long, violent history between the two clubs was extended.

"Everybody talks about violence, but violence is another thing," said Fabrizio Fileni, one of the
ultras that brought a halt to Genoa's home match with Siena over the weekend. It is remarkable, not
only does he defend himself, but, that he actually remains convinced that his actions and those of
his fellow Ultras were not violent.
Serie A returned this week after the postponed fixtures off last week after the sad death of on
loan Udinese midfielder Piermario Morosini at Livorno. This weekend action on the pitch will be
remembered for Juventus putting a brilliant performance at home to Roma. Off the pitch it will be
remembered for the sour scenes in Genoa where the Ultras made their mark and disrupted the game
against Siena.
There was some idiotic scenes in the Genoa, as the home side -losing to Siena at the time -were
demanded to take of their jerseys by their own ultras. The reasoning; according to this small
minority of fans the players were not fit enough to wear the club's colours. Marco Rossi, Genoa's
captain, ceded to their demands and went about collecting jerseys from his team-mates.

It was a packed weekend in Major League Soccer with implications on the playoff race and hints
at players being traded or transferred out of MLS. Monday's journey starts over in Spain where
possible Seattle Sounders transfer target Joan Verdu is getting public support from his club's
forward to stay, as Verdu is an important element to the Espanyol squad.
The first few months of the Montreal Impact's inaugural season in MLS have been both exciting
and frustrating. Last Wednesday, I grabbed my camera and took a trip up to Montreal with a good
friend. We took in the Canadian derby between Montreal and Toronto FC.
In the hinterlands of Cary, North Carolina itself largely a vast hinterland between Raleigh,
Durham, and Chapel Hill, a place once featured in National Geographic as the ultimate

The term "Ultras" says it all: hardcore supporters at the edge, well above the norm of regular fan.
San Jose's Ultras are a band of brothers and sisters, and their roll call includes lawyers,

Euro 2012: an early apology. Perhaps, just perhaps, it's all going to be OK.
Waking up in Poland on Saturday morning, there was a sense of expectation at eastern Europe's
first major football tournament having been not just surpassed by a free-scoring, snag-free and
above all largely peaceful opening day, but giddily so.
Supports of Polish outfit Lech Poznan unfurled a tifo mimicking the official Euro 2012 logo to
advertise their availability for a scrap this summer. They dubbed their prospective summer
tournament Kibole 2012, or Hooligans 2012. While Uefa and the Euro 2012 organisers will be hoping
for a peaceful time in Poland and Ukraine, the Poznan [.
When San Jose Earthquakes striker, Alan Gordon, scored the winner in the last minute of stoppage
time against LA Galaxy in Los Angeles in mid-May, he peeled off his strip in celebration. By then,
many of the 1906 Ultras, San Jose's wild band of traveling supporters, were already stripped to the
waist.

The club's supporters group the Green Angels celebrated it's twenty year

Tonight's new battle of the Olympiques is one that will make history.
Being a Coupe de la Ligue final, its result will be carved in stone. The name of the winner will
be added to the list of glorious predecessors, those who at least once have been the heroes of this
recent but well publicized competition.
Since learning that AIK was coming to Portland I have had a great interest in what the other
side thinks of this preseason tournament. Stockholm was my home for a little over a year from
2002-2004 (I spent time in other far reaching corners of Sweden like Norrbottens Län).
Burrito is back! And want The Ultras and Flight 19 to learn and sing this song for the Strikers vs

Vamos Strikers! Lets show them putos they come to Lockhart to lose! Defend the pinche Fort!

We saw the Italian fans crying, and they were banging on the side of our bus when we left the
hotel. When we left Brussels, the Italians were angry, understandably so; 39 of their friends had
died. I remember well one Italian man, who had his face right up against the window where I was
sitting.
Ein Buch über Ultras ist immer eine etwas schwierige Sache. Noch dazu ein Sachbuch, da denke ich
immer nur daran, dass hier jemand mit einem in den Medien allseits präsenten Thema richtig Geld
machen will. Mag auch sein, aber irgendwie ist das Buch „Utras im Abseits?" dann doch etwas
anders. Um Geld geht es sicher [.
A small group of Genoa ultras put on an incredible display of fan power during Sunday's match
against Siena. After Siena took a 4-0 lead over relegation-threatened Genoa early in the second
half, the ultras began their protest.
From Football Italia:
Genoa were losing 4-0 at the 53rd minute when the Marassi crowd halted play by throwing
fireworks and climbing on top of the tunnel.
Everyone's favorite Miami-based gangster lookalike got a show from the ultras of Galatasaray
this weekend, and quite a good one at that. Although there's a clear aura of childish anticipation
from the gentleman standing next to him, making things rather uncomfortable when it takes more than
ten seconds for the likenesses of Fatih and his players to rise from the crowd.
The soccer world sheds a tear for fans, players, and civilians that lost their lives in Egypt a
