Confirming previous reports, the Black-and-Red have bolstered their midfield with a Costa Rica international

D.C. United has confirmed the signing of Deportivo Saprissa and Costa Rica midfielder Ulises Segura. We had previously reported that a deal for the 24 year old was on its way. To complete the deal, United had to trade $50,000 in General Allocation Money to New York City FC, who had made the top MLS discovery claim on Segura.

The Black-and-Red appear to be ready to sign their first non-MLS player of the offseason.

Following an initial report by Costa Rica reporter Yashin Quesada, reporter Miguel Calderon is saying that Deportivo Saprissa is releasing midfielder Ulises Segura to sign with D.C. United. The report has since been confirmed by Arch Bell, and we've also been able to independently confirm it.
