Jeff Cunningham had reasons to smile late in 2009. (Getty Images)

This season was certainly a tale of two halves for FC Dallas. Things got off to the rockiest of starts that saw fans across North Texas grew more upset with the way things were being run in Frisco while the end of the year sure seemed to show things could actually be headed into the right direction for 2010.

How FC Dallas Forced Me to Shut Up...For Now.

"Shut up Fool!"
In the world of blogging and sports media, there is no art more refined and time tested than the systematic ridicule of a poor performing sports team. When things start to go wrong, everyone from the owner on down to the equipment managers can be a target for the criticism of those of us who make our way in sports forming opinions and shouting them loudly from the hilltops. RSL knocked the Rapids out of the playoffs (and put itself in) in the final minute of the final game of 2008. And the league set up a similar showdown by pairing the two in the 2009 finale.

FC Dallas (6-11-6) at Galaxy (9-4-11)

100 Percent Soccer 12 September @ 09:05 PM EST

A cool and clear night at Home Depot Center, a welcome relief after the humidity and smoke of recent weeks.

The Galaxy have a chance to (temporarily at least) overhaul Houston for the Western Conference lead coming into the game.

The omens are good: the Galaxy have one loss in their last 10 games, haven't conceded a goal in 216 minutes and play a Dallas team that has just one road win all season.

Saturday Galaxy Gameday: Eskandarian on DL & More

100 Percent Soccer 12 September @ 12:15 PM EST

Alecko Eskandarian's dismal injury-plagued season is all but over with the Galaxy conceding to the inevitable and placing the concussion-prone striker on the disabled list for the final six regular season games.

The former Chivas USA frontman can return for the playoffs, but you've got to wonder if Eskandarian's career is reaching a conclusion, too.

Second Opinion: The Trade

3rd Degree 08 September @ 02:07 PM EST
When Buzz asked me to drop him a few articles on the state of soccer, I couldn't decide what to name my articles and was stuck on "You can't handle the Truth," but thought it was to pretentious. As a professional coach you always find yourself being second-guessed. At the same time you usually surround yourself with people you trust for a second opinion. Click to continue reading...

A tough draw for FC Dallas over the weekend. After taking the lead twice, FCD was the victim of bad luck on a penalty call which allowed Jaime Moreno to equalize. It was Grandpa Urine's 40th match in the charge of FC Dallas. Click to continue reading...
