Liverpool have joined Spurs in the race for Marseille striker Loic Remy.
According to reports in France, Kenny Dalglish is interested in the French international striker
but also faces a fight with Arsenal for the 24 year old.
Remy almost joined Liverpool in the summer of 2010 however the Reds baulked at the £12.
It's a big day for Andre Villas-Boas' current team and his former one as well.
Chelsea's Portuguese manager is already on the hot seat just months into his first season at the
helm, and the questions about his future will only get louder if the Blues can't knock off Valencia
in Tuesday's UEFA Champions League group stage finale (Fox Soccer Channel, 2:45 p.
There are top-quality UEFA Champions League matchups all over the schedule on Wednesday, but
none will command as much attention as the AC Milan-Barcelona battle at the San Siro. Milan striker
Zlatan Ibrahimovic faces his former team for the first time, adding plenty of juice to an already
intriguing game.
The dream of Champions League football this season is over for Udinese as they were knocked out by
Arsenal 3-1 on aggregate in qualifying late Wednesday. First leg action at the Emirates last
Tuesday ended 1-0 to the hosts and Udinese equipped themselves well with the Gunners capitulating
at the weekend against Liverpool for the first time in 11 seasons on their home turf.
Four more spots remain in the draw for the UEFA Champions League group stage, and Arsenal is
hoping that it will secure one of those places to be a part of Thursday's festivities instead of
having to drop down to the Europa League.
The Gunners have dealt with plenty of loss, between on-field results and important personnel
bolting for other teams, and they'll look to hold on to a 1-0 lead over Udinese as their tie shifts
to Italy.
I don't want to sound hyperbolic. I keep reminding myself that this is just a game- a simple and
athletic form of entertainment meant to distract and please the masses from the day to day
hardships of life. After a long, hard day at the factory, the conference room, the construction
site, the school, or the hacker cave, everyone is entitled to sit down, grab a beer/juice/bottle o'
water/Faygo, sit down on the couch, and watch your favorite team engage in 90-120 minutes of some
good old football/soccer.
After the Cesc Fabregas' long saga ended two weeks ago, Arsenal finally closed their chapter
with Samir Nasri as on Tuesday, August 23, the Gunners officially announced that the French
midfielder is Manchester City bound.
After keeping the player for quite a while and even playing him in the league last week, the
London outfit announced on their official site that they've reached an agreement with City to
release the ex-Marseille player.
Ducky's Note: BFZ's regular Manc Bharat lays out a red-tinted view of how
the season has ended up for each of the Big Four... or Five I think. Oh and in case it wasn't
clear, this is the view of a Manc looking from the outside with respect to the other clubs, so it
is very very possible that you will not agree.
For soccer fans the announcement today that Fox will be using a multi-platform approach to
present their coverage of the PAC-12 football and basketball mirrors their recent use of FX and the
main network to cover UEFA Champions League. The use of the FX to present the UCL semis this year
has resulted in a huge increase in viewership, despite the midday presentation that European soccer
offers for the American audience.
Me: Why hello, madam. You seem very sprightly and alive today. Not to mention a
little big around the edges.
Fat Lady: Of course I'm alive, it's my time. And what do you mean, big? You're
one to talk, baby Jupiter.
Me: I resent that.
Ducky's Note: Long time Arsenal fan and occassional journalist Swaroop has quite a bone to
pick with a lot of people, especially the English Media. He may sound distinctly like he's part of
the Arsene Knows Brigade but he insists everything he says below are pure FACHTS.
While some Arsenal fans are saying that it is time Arsene Wenger went just to bring in a breath
of fresh air inside the Emirates, isn't it a case of changing just for the sake of changing?

Another Saturday and another game in my home county of Leicestershire for the third time in a row.
This time my options were not that limited but I wanted to be back in a reasonable time so as to
spend the evening with the better half.
