In the past two months, Arguez has gone from playing in the NASL with the Ft. Lauderdale
Strikers, to getting signed by the Montreal Impact, to getting called into his first camp in years
with the U.
The stage is set for what will be an amazing showdown between two of the most talked about
players in the game today. In the next couple of hours, Neymar's Santos and Messi's Barcelona will
fight it out for the honour of being called the best club in the world.
What i am going to say next might be hard to take for a few, however, it is a fact.

organization as they've announced, for really reals, that Jose Adolfo Valencia, the Colombian U-20

We've essentially covered El Trencito over the last few weeks so there's not much to say that

tragically died in a car accident over the weekend, while driving home from

UCLA midfielder Kelyn Rowe knows a thing or two about trying to live up to high expections.
Rowe, who will have no shortage of professional options after his sophomore season with the
Bruins, starred for the United States Under-20 national team during its failed attempt to qualify
for the Under-20 World Cup, scoring three goals and one assist in leading the U.
The reserves literally just wrapped a 1-1 draw with Blackburn at Stamford Bridge. Somewhat
unlucky, too. It was a solid performance from the guys, Mellis with the goal. Anyway.
At halftime, sporting director Michael Emenalo spoke to ChelseaTV. He offered some good insight
into what to expect from some of our high-profile youth players that are currently on the fringes
of the first team.

The Sounders had a great win 1-0 on the road against FC Dallas this weekend. It puts the team
back in the hunt for the Supporter's Shield although the Los Angeles Galaxy would need to drop a
match or two. The man of the match was defender Zack Scott who did an admirable job in containing
Brek Shea.

Brazil is the greatest footballing country in the world, and tonight they won the U-20 World Cup in

I was recently in the most wonderful country in the world, Colombia, where the U-20 World Cup is
currently taking place. The atmosphere is great as Colombians greet the world with their usual
smiles, hospitality and friendliness.Except if you are Argentine... I had made nothing of an
incident between the Argentinean team during a match against Egypt and the fans in Medellín until,

Whoever said kids should be seen and not heard has not been watching the U-20 World Cup. Stand up
and shout boys, this has been one hell of a tournament. Watching the semifinals this weekend was
euphoric and anxiety-inducing, just like good football should be.
Where to begin? With Portugal's one-for-the-ages penalties win over Argentina?

When Freddy Adu joined DC United at 14 years old, both he and Peter Nowak were under a

talk show circuit, he participated in several 'next big thing' marketing campaigns including a soft
drink commercial with Pele, and somehow found time to play professional soccer against men twice
his age (and size).

Mexican national teams have won two international tournaments this summer, and El Tri's U-20
squad got one step closer to potentially making it three.
Mexico advanced to the quarterfinals of the U-20 World Cup after defeaing Cameroon in a penalty
shootout following a 1-1 draw.
It's been a summer marred by disappointment for U.S. Soccer. Most notably there was the CONCACAF
Gold Cup Final collapse against Mexico by the U.S. Men's National Team and the loss to Japan in the
Women's World Cup Final by the U.S. Women's National Team.
But while those two defeats may have garnered the most attention, the youth national teams on
the men's side were also falling well short of expectations.

Spain's remarkable run of success recently might carry over into another tournament with Julen
Lopetegui's side looking like a serious contender to capture the FIFA U-20 World Cup after blitzing
through the group stage in dominating fashion.
The field at the FIFA Under-20 World Cup has been narrowed to 16 teams.
Spain, Nigeria and host Colombia were the only teams to win all of their matches in the group
stage, with Nigeria boasting a tournament-best +10 goal differential.
On the other end of the spectrum, Guatemala managed to qualify for the group stage after a late
goal lifted the first-time participants to a 1-0 victory over Croatia in their final group
game.
This weekend marks the return of some of the top leagues in the world, as the summer break
continues to end across Europe.
Teams in the Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Eredivisie all start their quests for successful seasons,
with a number of those teams employing U.S. national team players.
If you have basic Time Warner Cable, last night you got a chance to see 3 Mexican First Division
games, 1 Friendly from the Herbalife Ultra Challenge between Chivas of Mexico and Barcelona of
Spain, and 1 CONCACAF Champions League match between a Mexican club and Honduras club. And, this
was all from 8p.
