US keeps all the marbles

Kudos to Nick Dasovic,Canada's head coach. He took an undermanned squad to the point of qualifying for the Olympics. When i watched last nights game i wondered how it happened.I watched last nights game frustrated by how far Canada must still go before it can really compete with the US and Mexico. The US-23 squad was a full professional side that were never put in real danger by a hybrid professional and college side of Canada. Click to continue reading...

Its all the marbles day for Canada and US

Today Canada must win if it intends to qualify for the Beijing Olympics. To do so it must beat its cousin to the south. The Concacaf cousin who always sits at the big table at thanksgiving. The cousin who has qualified for every World Cup since 1990.But today Canada who have not qualified for a World Cup since 1986 are asking the adults for a seat at this fine table. Odds and ends and an early morning police raid

Canada and US play tomorrow for an Olympic qualifying spot.Because Canada is so limited in real world competitions like the World Cup i am desperate to see them get any experience possible. So i hope we can put some lead in our attack and defense and beat the US.

Canada to face US for Olympic spot

Molto Calcio 17 March @ 11:01 AM EST

But Canada's 5-0 win over Guatemala was just enough to edge Mexico out on goal differential.Mexico beat Haiti 5-1 but are going home. Why Concacaf allowed staggered start times instead of having everyone play the final game at the same time raises my ire and suspicions. Click to continue reading...

Well the collapse happened with just 20 minutes to go.Canada were up one nil on the effort of a Tyler Rosenlund 17th minute goal. But like the Mexico game Canada could not solidify the back and paid dearly for it.Canada now sit o-1-1.
On ten days preparation Canada have secured 1 point of a possible six. Click to continue reading...

A rundown of the day ahead

Again it can be said that Massimo Morrati is no Bill Lumberg. To me he is a kind paternalistic father who apologizes to his party guests when his crazy and drunk uncle pays a visit, the uncle who then asks the ugliest women in the room "had she ever called suicide prevention? and was she put on hold?" Poor Moratti has to follow him around apologizing cleaning up after him. Click to continue reading...

Canada earn a draw with Mexico

Molto Calcio 13 March @ 12:19 PM EST
I have been posting about the current affairs of the Canadian soccer association and it's inability to fulfill its mandate as a soccer organization. Last night Canada's U23 team was tasked with playing Mexico in order to become one of two teams to qualify from Concacaf to qualify for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. Click to continue reading...
