The Newcastle U18 side fought through to the quarter finals of the FA Youth Cup last night,
after they beat QPR 2-1 after extra time. Steve Logan in action last night The Newcastle lads
gave a fighting display and Newcastle manager Alan Pardew was there at St. James' Park to
watch his youngsters come from behind to win the game.
Remie Streete has won the Wor Jackie Award for 2010. Remie Streete top young defender turned 17
last November The 17 year-old defender, who is the son of former Wolves player Floyd Streete, is
one of the brightest young prospects at Newcastle United. The Wor Jackie Award is given to the best
Newcastle U18 player [.
Since national signing day was a week or so ago, I've gotten a few emails from people asking about
where certain Juniors players were heading for college. Instead of directing people to 5 different
places, I figured I'd post a list of players that have signed or at least have verbally committed.
So with all apologies to Alex and his former Juniors update, here's some commitments for you.
Asked directly what excites him most about his new opportunity to be the Coach of the Seattle

After sitting on the bench for the US U18 team's first two games of the Milk Cup, Sporting KC
goalkeeper, Jon Kempin got the start today in the third place game today against Georgia today in
Northern Ireland. The US pulled out a 2-1 win to finish the competition 2-0-1 in the 3 game
competition. Goals by Jordan McCrary and Jerome Kiesewetter led the US attack getting the two
goals.
It was only 11 days ago that the Sounders U16 team finished 5th in the country at the US Soccer
Development Academy Finals and only a couple of weeks before that the Sounders U18s were eliminated
from the Playoff groups in Frisco, Texas. But the Sounders Academy didn't get much of a break
before preparation for the new season began.
This week's former SKC Wizards update is here. Some other news this week, Ryan Smith has left his
trial with Real Zaragoza as the parties couldn't come to an agreement for the winger. Scoot Lorenz
has joined this list for the time being while on his loan with Minnesota. Speaking of loans, Ryan
Pore has departed Portland on loan, heading back to the NASL to play for the Montreal Impact.
Last season, Liverpool's u18 side was a revelation, the club's revitalised academy forcing its
way back into the limelight after a decade in the wilderness. Much of that was down to a new
generation of young stars, the likes of Suso, Raheem Sterling, Conor Coady, and Jack Robinson, all
of whom remain eligible for u18 play this season but all of whom are expected to make the leap full
time to the reserves—not to mention the NextGen Series and the occasional first team
match—along with coach Rodolfo Borrell.
Springfield SC 94/95 Boys at Region 2 Tournament by Duane Moses
The Springfield SC 94/95 Boys will play against the Cincinnati Crew Jr's at 10am today in the U16
Boys semifinals.
There are several other teams from Missouri who have reached the semifinals as well including
the U13 Boys Sporting KC Jr's, U18 Girls Scott Gallagher (Cline & Hatz), U16 Girls JB Marine Wipke,
U18 Girls KCFC Intensity (Groom, Clark and other Liberty Jay's), U15 Girls KCFC Futura Academy and
in the U17 Boys, Scott Gallagher will face Lou Fusz Popovic ensuring one Missouri team will reach
the Finals.
The final day of group stage and everyone is still in a position to advance. The photos are from
the win on Sunday, including the PK goal by Josh McCutcheon, and are provided by Duane Moses who's
son Dallas (Catholic) is a midfielder for SSC. The boys kick off at 8am this morning needing a tie
to advance.

A pair of goals in the first half held up for the win in their first Regional game. Goals were
scored by Jakob Neidig (Ozark) from Dallas Moses (Catholic) free kick and by Evan Craig (Catholic)
from Mitch Moncada's (Catholic) assist.
Tomorrow morning, the U.S. Soccer Development Academy Playoffs will begin and the Philadelphia
Union academy system is well-represented. The Union's three USSDA affiliate clubs, PA Classics, FC
Delco, and Players Development Academy, have all qualified teams for the playoffs at least one of
the U18 and U16 age groups, and there will be four Union-affiliated teams taking the field this
weekend at Pizza Hut Park in Frisco, Texas.

Another week of former Wizards updates. A day late after the Sporting KC home game last night. The
European season is winding down, and another former Wizard has appeared. Diego Walsh has apparently
signed with the Charleston Battery, meaning there are 3 former Wizards playing in Charleston as he
joins Stephen Armstrong and John Wilson.
There is news today that Newcastle have agreed to sign Mehdi Abeid from French club Lens, as a free
agent. Mehdi Abeid - 18 year old French U18 International The news is coming from the top Newcastle

It's late, I know, but the Hong Kong Soccer 7′s tournament is kicking off in a little over an
hour and I've just enough time to bring you up to speed with the fixtures.
The 16 competing teams have been drawn into four groups of four. Each group should contain two
local sides and two visiting teams, but Fourway Rangers were included in Group D as a replacement
for Etoile FC from Singapore.
Good Afternoon! The Red Bulls are in action today, as they travel north of the border to beautiful
Stade Saputo for a midweek friendly against the Montreal Impact. The Impact currently play in the
second division NASL but are due to become MLS' 19th team next year.
For the better part of the past year, FC DELCO midfielder Jimmy McLaughlin has been putting in
more work than the average young soccer player. In addition to his club responsibilities, he has
also served as captain of the Philadelphia Union's U17 and U18 teams.
This Sunday, all that work finally paid off.
Today at 10:00 AM, the Union will open play in the new and improved 2011 edition of the MLS
Reserve Division against the New York Red Bulls. The team will be coached by Brendan Burke, who is
also the head coach of the Union's PDL affiliate Reading United AC.
All of the Union players are eligible to take part in tomorrow's game, but several players went
the full 90 in Saturday's league win over New York and a few even went 120 minutes in the US Open
Cup against DC United.
This past weekend, two of the Union's youth development affiliates faced off against one of the
premier teams in the entire country. In fact, the past round of games could be thought of as
something of a rivalry week for FC Delco and PA Classics.
One thing is for sure, though: it was a weekend that Delco and Classics will quickly want to
forget.
