Should France V Rep.Ireland Be Replayed? Is Henry Sorry?

Footy/Soccer Blog 20 November @ 02:14 PM EST

Many people have been calling for the France v Rep. Ireland game to be replayed, but I'm not too sure if this will be possible. Sure, I think the game wasn't fair and France don't deserve to go to the World Cup, but I'm not sure if you can simply decide to replay this match how can it be considered to be fair, when bad refereeing decisions affect matches all the time, I don't quite understand how this match can warrant a replay when others don't.

Calm Before The Storm; Dynamo vs. Galaxy

The Offside - Houston 13 November @ 01:51 PM EST

Gameday is upon us. I don't want to talk any trash or make any predictions. We must avoid the jinx at all costs. It's not that I believe in that voodoo rhetoric, but why chance it? I will keep it simple and possibly very bland.

Here are a few game related articles. One states how Los Angeles is just 90 minutes away from the finals.

Weekend Match Guide: Ban suspended edition

Dirty Tackle 07 November @ 12:55 AM EST

The matches to watch after you realize that, if for just this weekend, the suspension of Chelsea's transfer ban is far less important than the match on Sunday. And that I told you so.

Saturday

Tottenham v Sunderland at White Hart Lane Jermain Defoe returns from suspension and Aaron Lennon might appear, although this will really be Darren Bent's show as he visits his former team.

Don't blame Lennon

THBN - Tottenham Hotspur Blog News 26 October @ 04:08 AM EST
Right then, where do I start? I was at the game and those following my tweets could see that bent frustration I and all those around me felt.
I thought the long walk back to the car after seeing us lose was bad enough; how mistaken I was. We had to endure Harry telling us that he was a bit miffed with Aaron Lennon because he came off without telling anyone. Click to continue reading...

Spurs vs. Stoke - Your Predictions

THBN - Tottenham Hotspur Blog News 24 October @ 04:16 AM EST
This will be an interesting one. Harry's been in our minds and hearts for a year now and what a year it's been! I remember his first game in charge. We beat Bolton 2-0 and he was out on the touchline, full of enthusiasm. It really was such a change from the lost looks Juande used to pull.
Not much has changed to be honest. Click to continue reading...

Players, coaches - are you "Tweet", "Plurk" enough?

BoLASEPaKO - a simple view on Singapore Soccer 07 October @ 07:53 PM EST
The general mindset of most local clubs officials and players is to keep "things within four walls" and it's not very often we see war-of-words trading across feuding parties to ensure the mood of solidarity in the local football fraternity (because of the "Code of Conduct" I guess).
Personally, nothing wrong with that as nobody would want to see a WWE-styled reality show since the main product is the game itself. Click to continue reading...

Wizards Tie Houston 1-1

Hillcrest Road 04 October @ 05:29 PM EST
Our boys came back from a 1-0 deficit to tie Houston today at Robertson Stadium, but three points were really needed to put us back into the picture for the MLS Cup Playoffs. We're six points behind New England with three games remaining, but there are four teams between us and the Revs. Zoltan scored a beautiful goal for his first in a KC uniform, and Lopez recorded his 8th assist of the season on the play. MLS game #26: DCU vs. Seattle Sounders FC

Behind the Badge 12 September @ 08:53 AM EST

We all know the stakes for this one. Just ten days after Seattle came to RFK and won the U.S. Open cup in United's home, the expansion side returns to DC for a hugely important League match. Both teams are in the midst of a fight to make the playoffs, with every point gained important.

Seattle will be without Freddie Ljungberg who is serving a suspension for yellow card accumulation, while DC will again be without Marc Burch (ankle surgery) and Dejan Jakovic (bi-lateral hernia repair).

Altidore’s Hull move delayed

Footballing Twits

FOOTBALLSUP 12 August @ 08:40 AM EST

The Twitter bandwagon is in full flow - some would say slowing down, almost - and there is a steady flow of footballers and football related Twitterers appearing in the micro-blogging sphere. It really hit the back (and front) pages with Darren Bent's Twitter 'rant' at Daniel Levy a few weeks back - but did you know that Hull's new striker, signed on the back of Daryl Murphy and Bobby Zamora turning them down, was also there?

It probably went into motion on Aug 2, when he says he is going on a little trip. He then responds to one of his followers saying, "if i told u [where] it wouldn't be a surprise. lol" ...Looks like a presser for tomorrow at 2:30 (England time i suppose?

Altidore: “England Early in the Morning”

EPL Talk 04 August @ 09:31 PM EST

Has Spurs Striker Darren Bent Made a Twit Of Himself?

MLS game #19: DCU @ San Jose

Behind the Badge 25 July @ 12:30 PM EST

With a road record of 1-3-5, United hasn't exactly been struggling on the road but three points have been hard to come by. The sole road win came back on April 26 at New York. Tied with Columbus for second place in the Eastern Conference, only a point behind Chicago, the Black-and-Red will be looking for valuable three points that could put them atop the East again.

Just a thought

Jakarta Casual 19 July @ 06:04 PM EST
On 26 October the IRA bombed a fast food restaurant in London's Oxford Street. This came just two weeks after another London bombing in the Victoria area. And yet on the 31 October Arsenal played Coventry as a full round of fixtures were played throughout the country.
Having lived through the years when the IRA tried to bomb the living crap out of my country, and this is just a list of the London tragedies, I have always been slightly amused when I am asked whether of not I am scared living in Jakarta. Click to continue reading...

So Ching Was Fined For His Tweet

Probably something some of us have forgotten about by now. Remember over the weekend when Houston Dynamo striker Brian Ching a tweet saying "Ref in seattle just cheated the dynamo. What a joke. Not even close. Ref is a cheat"?

Well that will now cost him $500 from the league front office.
