The draft is over and next Friday players report to Portland and the Portland Timbers are hinting they are not done adding to their roster. Rumors are swirling as to who and what position said player plays. All of these leaves us fans in what seems like an internal state of nervous energy.

Here is some rather amusing news that is funny just as much as it is shocking.

Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciesh Szczesny has apologized to team mate Aaron Ramsey for some offensive remarks he posted to his twitter account saying that Ramsey looked like a rapist.

Szczensy who was only joking when made the comments, has however apologized saying that he crossed the line.

One of the lasting benefits of watching soccer (football or whatever you want to call it) is how it never ceases to surprise and just when you think you've got it all figured out, everything changes. Such was the nature of today's FA Cup Third Round match between Premier League Leaders Man City and their closest rivals Manchester United.

If you were getting bored with American soccer news and the MLS off-season, then you certainly have something to catch your attention now. Today via twitter American soccer play Preston Zimmerman set a debate in motion that will likely be rolling around for a while. The young attacker wrote a diatribe that brings several issues to the forefront of conversation and there were two points that should be taken note of.

One-time U.S. youth international Preston Zimmerman doesn't have a single cap for the senior U.S. national team, and while it wasn't likely that he'd be receiving his first call-up sometime soon anyway based on his current level of play and club standing, he didn't do himself any favors by using social media to voice his opinion about the current U.

After Tottenham's controversial defeat against Stoke City last Sunday, it has been reported that hundreds if not thousands of Tottenham supporters have been and continue to send obscene tweets to Sir Chris Hoy. It appears there seems to be a literacy problem among some of the Tottenham supporters.

When the Alliance Council asked for a larger role in the planning and execution of the End of Year Business Meeting the goal was for a more streamlined event, less repetitive Q&A and an increase in participation overall. On those three goals we probably got 2.5 right. This recap is built from the team's official live blog, my tweets from backstage and my memory of the event.

Hoy There has been somewhat of a twitter backlash following Chris Foy's refereeing performance yesterday. Which has of course led to some ill informed / drunk / idiotic Spurs fans get on twitter and commence the abuse of triple oylmpic champion cyclist Chris Hoy.
