On Thursday, November 5, I was a panelist at Football Partnership's Tweet Blowing the
Whistle on Social Media, a discussion about soccer and social media. The panelists also
included Greg Lalas (Goal.com), Chris Schlosser (MLSnet.com) and Chris Toy (Studs-Up.com). For more

These guys are recently been listed as most influential journalists and bloggers for football

Since Twitter recently released a list function, we thought it was time to share our

Chivas USA 2 Galaxy 2
An entertaining if error-ridden game with all four goals coming from unmitigated howlers has
ended all square.
Alan Gordon missed a trio of chances for the Galaxy after coming on a as a second half sub that
could have made the difference, but Chivas USA had their own burden to bear with striker Justin
Braun seemingly intent on giving away virtually every ball he touched.

Jozy Altidore was excluded from the Hull City game with no explanation for his
absence to be found. But the young lass loves his social networking sites, so the mystery didn't
take very long to figure out. While Hull was already playing, Jozy sent his fans a little tweet to
explain what had happened:

Last week, I posted a tweet that if I was reborn, I would become a Tottenham Hotspur supporter
simply because of The Spurs Show podcast. And I meant it. Most of the readers here know me
as a Swansea City supporter, but there's something completely endearing, refreshing, honest and
depressing about being a regular listener to The Spurs Show that makes me feel closer to
the pain one must feel supporting THFC.

to write a post about.

I sent out a tweet about the U-20 World Cup early last week, and had a post in the works, but I
never got around to finishing it until now. The group stage of the competition is over and the bare
facts tell the story: none of the CONCACAF qualifiers finished in the top two of their respective
groups, two finished in third place, and other other two bottom of their group.

Well, after Twittergate earlier this year, we saw Darren Bent's account disabled. Good news for
Niall Quinn: D-Bent is back. He may just get a "stop f***ing around" tweet of his very own one day.
But Bent didn't just come quietly back to the world of status updates. He's challenged boxer Tony
Jeffries to a follower count war.

I had alluded in a tweet to my assessment of the Rodrigo Kenton denouement, but I'll state it again
here: Rodrigo Kenton was the first casualty of the Costa Rican national team's overinflated
expectations. Nothing has changed all that much with the team in the 14 months he was at the helm,
but the results obtained in the first half of his tenure set up fans and media in Costa Rica for a
crushing disappointment in the second half.

Thanks to all those who had followed The Flat Back Four on Twitter today. To say that we had a
great time chatting and tweet-ing about possible transfer moves would be stretching it a bit. In
fact, it was quite the opposite. When the expectation and hype gets built up so much and all we get
is a £12m Michael Turner switch from Hull City to Sunderland, then it's time we face the facts and
realise that this is as good as it gets in the Barclays Premier League this season.

It looks like it's official, well, sort of. I am a follower of Harry Redknapp on Twitter, as are

In a tweet sent this morning, Harry said the following;

The Twitter bandwagon is in full flow - some would say slowing down, almost - and there is a
steady flow of footballers and football related Twitterers appearing in the micro-blogging sphere.
It really hit the back (and front) pages with Darren Bent's Twitter 'rant' at Daniel Levy a few
weeks back - but did you know that Hull's new striker, signed on the back of Daryl Murphy and Bobby
Zamora turning them down, was also there?
