It's hardly surprising that Newcastle's first game of the season, against Arsenal at St. James' Park will be televised live by American broadcaster ESPN. Of course last season's fixture, when Arsenal were 4-0 ahead after just 26 minutes and then Newcastle mounted the greatest come-back ever seen in the Premier League when they scored [.

We were in New York City for the holiday weekend and the USL PRO Game of the Week between Antigua Barracuda FC and FC New York. Highlights:

Hard to believe we are a third of the way through the TV schedule and only 60 days away from the championship match on September 3. This week we're in Richmond, Virginia as two of the longest-running USL teams, Charlotte and Richmond (both established in 1993) meet at City Stadium.

The 2011 MLS TV schedule is available. After looking at it a bit I decided to count up the number of games each team gets on national TV. Keep in mind there are only 2 Canadian team which might give them better chances to get more games shown on the Canadian channel.

It is no big surprise that the Galaxy top the list.

NEW YORK, – Today Major League Soccer and FOX Soccer announced the TV schedule for the upcoming season. year. The premier soccer-only channel in North America will broadcast up to 31 regular-season games, plus three exclusive MLS Cup Playoff matches including a Conference Final – all in high definition.

The worry over Major League Soccer not having a TV deal with Fox Soccer is over, at least for one more year. The two sides agreed on a 31-game contract, plus three exclusive MLS Cup Playoff matches including a Conference Final for the 2011 season.

The announcement also saw some schedule changes for several clubs.

The UEFA Champions League knockout stage continues Wednesday with the highly anticipated Arsenal-Barcelona matchup sure to captivate most viewers. AS Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk will also play the first leg of their knockout tie.

Stuart Holden's Bolton is also in action, taking on Wigan Athletic in a FA Cup fourth-round replay at DW Stadium, though that match is not being televised in the United States.

The third round of the FA Cup kicks off this Saturday. For many soccer fans, myself included, it's one of the best weekends in the year when you get to see several teams you normally don't see do battle against the giants of English football. Saturday's FA Cup coverage kicks off with Arsenal at home against Leeds United, and many eyes will be watching to see if Leeds can beat Arsenal like they defeated Manchester United last season in the same tournament.
