Help me, I'm having nightmares. More, after the jump:
Cold as ice
I'm not even sure this match is as important as what's transpiring around the orbit of England's
Once Brave (Twice-Removed) John Terry- henceforth known as EOBTRJT. Jack cooked up some brilliance
on the matter, as always, which I recommend you all read at once.

I've been waiting for a video of this to surface since Tuesday night, in so far as it was the
only slight sliver of a shred of commiseration we Forest fans were able to take from the night.
Burnley won 2-0. Rodriguez scored them both.
Anyway, with the score at 1-0, the man they call 'Jay Rod' up around Turf Moor way stepped up
and performed a timely homage to John Terry's infamously spunked Moscow spot-kick which proved to
be the only highlight of the game from a Forest perspective.
Fitness continued to be the focus for the Portland Timbers as they neared the end of their first
week of preseason training in 2012. The sun shone brightly on the turf and allowed some players to
shed their extra layers. Again the players participated in an 8v8 half field scrimmage after
warming up and doing a few drills, but the consistent theme throughout the session was keeping
everyone constantly in motion.

It's not often you find yourself left in the unenviable position of having to sympathise with
Mark van Bommel, but during AC Milan's 3-1 Coppa Italia victory over Lazio last night one such
instance occurred.
With Lazio 2-1 down and defending a late corner, Brazilian centre-back Dias took an almighty
swing at Van Bommel's temples and caught the Milan midfielder with a cowardly blow to the side of
the head that left him sprawled on the turf for a couple of minutes.

With Palace going into the game with a 1-0 aggregate lead courtesy of centre-back Anthony
Gardner, Cardiff levelled the score after just 7 minutes through Palace centre-back Anthony Gardner
who somehow got his head down lower than his own feet to power a header past Julian Speroni and in
off his own post.
Nottingham Forest FC have once again shown magnificent support and joined forces with Football Aid,

In which, during last night's Copa del Rey quarter-final first-leg El Clasico in Madrid, Real
Madrid's in-house butcher Pepe indulged in a spot of what he loves to do the bestest stamping on
Lionel Messi's hand as the Barca tyke sat on the turf after being barrelled over by Jose
Callejon.
Bitter rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona are set to write the next chapter in their storied
Clasico history as they meet in the opening leg of the Copa del Rey quarterfinals at Estadio
Santiago Bernabeu (4 p.m., GOLTV/ESPN3.com).
While Barcelona is looking for revenge in this tournament after being beaten by Madrid in last
year's final, it is Madrid that is looking to try to even the overall score.
This just in: The U.S. WNT spends lots of time in airports. Here the squad waits for its flight
to Canada.Easy travel day for the U.S. WNT today. Relatively short flight from LA (not sure how long, but
it's whatever is the length of
Moneyball+ a short nap. Also, the WNT Blog maintains that
Brad Pitt is underrated as an actor), into the same time zone and they players had time to get a
weight workout in the morning and get into Vancouver in time for dinner in the evening.
This is from the website of the Arena Soccer League's Louisville Lightning, with whom Houston
Dynamo first round pick Colin Rolfe has been training since the end of the NCAA season. It's nice
to see this from Rolfe, simply because there are many people in this market who have never even
heard of the guy, even though his college accomplishments at Louisville are impressive to say the
least.

Football Aid 2012 – Bid to Play at Loftus Road!
There was good news coming out of the TFC universe today as Joao Plata left the loan category and
signed for Toronto. The deal was described as "multi-year" and no dollar amount was mentioned.
I like Plata, you have to admire the energy and dedication that he brings to the field. I am still
convinced that he should be used as a super sub more often.
While we were waiting for the van Win had to get something off his chest. "Listen," he said with
gravity, "the money is getting huge now. What I want you to know is that, after every game' we can
decide to quit and take the money. Or we can continue to the next game, thereby risking losing it
all.
Welcome to The Yorkies' regular off-season rumour roundup - "The Rumoumeter". Too busy to keep your
TFC ear to the ground every week? Just stop by the site and we will quickly show you what rumours
are hot - and which ones have hit the back burner. Some of the rumours have weight - others little
more than whispers; we take their temperature with.

He may be public enemy number one these days, or maybe number two behind Luis Suarez. But John
Terry discovered that love can conquer all, after a fan/loony ran onto the Stamford Bridge turf
during the Villa game in order to express his physical love for the England captain.
The Carling Cup semi-final legs between Liverpool and Manchester City look set to be mouth-watering
contests but who will be walking out onto the Wembley turf on February 26?
City have certainly been impressive to watch this season, as they have managed to cut out many of
the mistakes against lesser side that made them slip up in the Premier League title race last term.

As we find ourselves fully entrenched in the holiday season, we can't forget the fans of the MISL
and what they have on their wish list for their favorite team. We've complied a list of what the
fans in each market likely are asking for from their teams as we are now 1/3 of the way through the
season.

There was an incident that was missed by referee Mark Clattenburg during the first half of
Chelsea's 2-1 win over Man City at the Bridge last night that has sparked a fair bit of debate in
internet circles this morning, despite not really being mentioned in the national press, in which
Yaya Toure both 'kicked' ('nudged' being a fairer assessment) Juan Mata as he sat on the turf then
slapped the Spaniard around the head for good measure a few minutes later.
A chance to play at Anfield
IT'S that time of year again: the Christmas tree is up or at least threatening to be, the snow
is falling or at least threatening to, and the streets are packed with frantic shoppers threatening
to do things to the next person to get in their way as they search frantically for the ideal
pressie for their loved ones, never quite sure if the loved one in question already has that
particular one anyway.
"My job is not to be easy on people. My job is to take these great people we have and to push them
and make them even better."

adidas has released a brand new turf soccer shoe for the upcoming winter indoor soccer season in
the form of the adi5 X-ite (now available at World Soccer Shop and Big Toe Soccer). Here are the
details on it from adidas along with an up-close look at one of the first new turf-specific shoes

With football team's now staging naked ballets in training and employing unicorns to canter down
rainbows and deliver the matchball before kick-off, it's perhaps understandable that fans at Slavia
Prague's match against Viktoria Plzen over the weekend thought they were being treated to a bit of
half-time entertainment when a rogue parachutist plummeted from nowhere and landed on the pitch
during the interval.
By Shane Badger
While indoor soccer has a storied history in America, whobut the hardened fan knows that story? It
will take an education to break theiconic image of an "indoor Field". Green turf, rubber pellets,
modified goalsand lines marked to reflects the smaller field.
We have now to forget about Chelsea, carry on, and prove that we can keep doing the job.
Wenger knows what he is saying. The victory at the weekend was as uplifting as any in recent
memory but most fans will recall how a similar win against Barcelona was quickly forgotten when the
subsequent results disappointed.
Luckily enough for Chelsea we have our next Champions League game on match day four against Genk in
the return game that took place a couple of weeks ago. Genk weren't anything special at the Bridge
if we are being honest and this should be another three points for Chelsea tomorrow.
However, playing sides in the Champions League on their own turf at their own ground can turn out
to be a very different story.

Now aged 35 and winding his career down in Argentina with Lanus, you'll be glad to know that
Mauro Camoranesi is still a dirty bastard when it counts i.e, when his opponent's are lying prone
on the ground.
During Wednesday night's match against Racing Club, Camoranesi butchered Patricio Toranzo to the
turf with a rash, late tackle, was brandished with a red card and then stomped over to finish the
job by clouting Toranzo across the face with his size 9′s while the Racing midfielder lay
sprawled out on the pitch.
In a match that saw Liverpool create 25 chances and only take one, it's hard to say that one of
those responsible for converting chances was the star man. But it's undeniable that, save for
finding the net, Luis Suarez has few peers in terms of the ability to absolutely terrorize the
opposition's defense.
The Hawthorns becomes a (very) public toilet Two Wolverhampton Wanderers fans could be in trouble
after filming themselves urinating in the centre circle of West Brom's pitch. The daring duo took
to The Hawthorns' turf following Wolves' 2-0 defeat in the Black Country derby on Sunday. Getting
in a very early defence, the cameraman can [.
Well, this is a truly shocking photograph but believe it or not, the woman here isn't a deranged
football fan! She's a member of FEMEN, a Ukrainian Women Movements group
(we'd call it a 'feminist' group but that term is tragically overused
these days), who participated in a protest at Ukraine's newly reconstructed Olympiyskiy Stadium
last week.

Football Aid 2012 - Play at Loftus Road!
The Reds go for what seems like an outlandish second win on the bounce on their travels, with a
midweek trip to Turf Moor tomorrow evening. After the hardly-scintillating smash-and-grab against
Watford at Vicarage Road, Steve McClaren will be hoping no doubt that renewed confidence at the
back coupled perhaps with a little more intent going forward might see us sneak away from Burnley
who have yet to win at home with all three points [.
The Green Bay Packers suffered a big loss in Week 2 when they lost Pro Bowl safety Nick Collins
for the season. Thankfully, Collins avoided serious injury when he injured his neck on an awkward
tackle. That said, the Packers aren't saying whether the neck injury could be a career-threatening
injury.
The 2011 version of the NVSC Battlefield Tournament will take place October 8th and 9th. The
official list of accepted teams was released yesterday and can be seen on their tournament

Do We Still Dream of a Team of Carraghers?
The reintroduction of Kenny Dalglish as manager of Liverpool Football Club has welcomed an
entirely new brand of football. The philosophy of a pass and move game has seemingly been drilled
into the entire squad, and everybody plays within that ideal.
For our very last Non-League Day related story, David Bauckham travelled up to Middlesex for the
Ryman League Premier Division match between Wealdstone and Bury Town.
I was once asked by someone to explain this "football pyramid thing" that I kept banging on
about and it was only then, as a follower of non-League football for many years, that it dawned on
me that there are many football fans out there who have little or no idea that the Pyramid even
exists, let alone what it is all about.
While the first half at times seemed like a passing clinic by the Seattle Sounders they only
managed a single goal. That one Fredy Montero shot won the US Open Cup Semifinal match over FC
Dallas, but it certainly will not be what people will remember from the match. Unfortunately the
second half of chipping, sometimes violent, play by both teams will over shadow what was a truly
amazing goal sequence.

Why anyone should want to watch this over and over we're not sure, but here we are anyway Didier
Drogba being sparked out against Norwich yesterday on infinite loop -
We've seen it a couple of times now and the way he flails lifeless to the turf is still making
us wince.
By Chris Wright
There were sickening scenes at Stamford Bridge yesterday when Didier Drogba collided with
Norwich 'keeper John Ruddy during an aerial skirmish and fell like dead weight to the turf in the
replays you could pinpoint the actual moment when 'the lights went out'.
