Bolton.
TEAM NEWS:
Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen could make his comeback from a two-month Achilles injury
layoff. With one eye on Saturday's derby at Chelsea, manager Arsene Wenger is likely to rest the
likes of Laurent Koscielny, Per Mertesacker and Robin van Persie, and give starts to the fringe
players like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Francis Coquelin, Park Chu-Young and Emmanuel Frimpong.
Bolton come to Villa Park for the 3rd round of the Carling Cup, Alex McLeish has fielded a very
strong side and Owen Coyle is able to hand Stuart Holden his first appearance since his knee injury

After playing two tightly-contested matches last season Liverpool scored the winners in the 86th
and 92nd minutes respectively Bolton visits Anfield in hopes of continuing what's been an
encouraging start to the season. Liverpool's had all the success in this matchup over the past few
years, winning the last nine, but with two deserved wins and a hard-fought loss to City last
weekend, tomorrow's visitors will arrive expecting to get a result.

The obligatory Owen Coyle photo
The cup season is upon us once again as Bolton Wanderers open the Carling Cup against
Macclesfield Town at the Reebok. The Silkmen of League Two downed Hull City by a score of 2-0 to
reach the second round. Bolton will look to do better than they did last year when they were ousted
by Burnley in the third round.
Work permit or not, he can train with the lads
Because he's definitely not at the Reebok. It turns out that our poor Turkish delight (yes, I
will continue calling him that) is still in Dusseldorf attempting to work out his permit. I
originally read that the paperwork would go through Tuesday, but it now appears that Tuncay just
had his appointment on Tuesday and that "it is normally a four or five day turnaround with the
embassy".
The tenacious Turkish midfielder has agreed terms
Doesn't that just feel good to say? Tuncay has undergone a medical with Bolton Wanderers and the
signing is due to be announced at any point. There are no official word on terms of the deal yet
but what we can gather is a year long loan from Wolfsburg of the Bundesliga with an option to make
the move permanent that's in the region of £3 million.
WOLFSBURG, Germany — Wolfsburg manager Steve McClaren made probably his last roll of the dice on
Monday in a bid to revive his club's fortunes and retain his job as he made five signings.
