Wesley Sneijder has been linked with Manchester United in the past few days, and not for the
first time. The Dutchman has continuously been linked with Manchester United for the best part of
two seasons but each time the move was apparently close to completion something cropped up an
prevented it from being finalized.
In amongst all the transfer rumour chaos there's a Premier League game to be played tonight and
according to Spurs' assistant Joe Jordan, there are a few injury worries ahead of the game with
Wigan.
Jordan revealed new doubts over Jermain Defoe and Aaron Lennon, both of whom have picked up
fresh hamstring injuries in the last few days.
Liverpool have today again been linked to Napoli's star striker Edinson Cavani. The £40
million rated striker could be seen as the ideal partner for Luis Suarez, who would surely be able
to persuade the fellow Uraguian striker to join him at Liverpool.
What a partnership Suarez and Cavani would be and his arrival would put extra pressure on Andy
Carroll to perform if he wants to see much game time.

Ducky's Note: Susa takes a look at the potential January transfer dealings
of Chelsea
With the recent announcement of Manchester United's 'interest' in Frank Lampard, the transfer
rumour mills have surely begun their bi-annual grinding again. While the season so far has exposed
clear deficiencies in almost all the teams (except City's 500-man squad), Chelsea have been found
surprisingly short in key areas, especially in central defence.
Another day, another striker linked to Tottenham Hotspur and today's transfer rumour involves
Ivory Coast centre forward Seydou Doumbia who currently plays his football in Russia with CSKA
Moscow.
Doumbia was with our old adversaries Young Boys where he played for two seasons before
travelling to the Russian league in 2010.
Football transfer rumours: Arsenal to sign Daniel Parejo?
Today's junk is using reverse psychology As a wise old jobbing American character actor in a
Burt Lancaster film once said, even a hawk is an eagle among crows. And so it is that in these
times of inter-window waffle-scarcity the news that former Liverpool wing mediocrity El Hadji Diouf
is on the verge of a foul-tempered and ultimately short-lived return to football appears to qualify
as a major transfer rumour.
It seems that the newspapers are ready to latch on to any perceived dispute between club and
player in order to produce a transfer rumour and today there have been many stories appearing
linking AC Milan with a move for Rafael van der Vaart.
Last week, VDV reacted with surprise at being left out of Spurs' squad for the initial stages of
the Europa League,
"I still think it's a peculiar situation.
Not a day has gone by since the closing of the transfer window without a transfer rumour concerning
Arsenal hitting the press. Today is no different and the latest player to be connected with our
great club is Ousmane Drame. There is a report on talkSPORT this morning saying that Arsenal are in
direct competition [.
Like any self respecting football fan, I spent most of yesterday sat in my office scouring
Twitter for the latest transfer rumour and staring intently at BBC's sports day live patiently
waiting for each auto refreshing nugget of drama to unfold. Not a lot of work was done.
Conversely, those behind the scenes at the Emirates were very busy, something we are not used to
from recent deadline days.
Well, I am not much of a transfer speculation/discussion guy but today's game and a highly
unrealistic transfer rumour about a Nasri-Tevez swap got me thinking.
First, let me just mention why I don't see any sense in the swap deal with Tevez. The
Argentinean is a world-class player but I don't see him fitting into the Arsenal style.
Liverpool Track Madrid Star Higuain
Liverpool are believed to be keeping tabs on Real Madrid forward Gonzalo Higuaín, according to
Footybunker.com. The reds, who are yet to make a marquee signing as such this season, are in need
of another striker to provide strength in depth in the forward positions.
Stop worrying and learn to love Stewart Downing | Barney Ronay
Reports of Stewart Downing moving to Anfield have been met by a shrug from many Liverpool fans.
This is depressing The summer transfer window is the most obvious example of football's refusal
ever to stop happening.
During the summer, when time is often measured in the latest player transfer rumours rather than
in minutes passed, we have become acclimated to the concept of a player having his head "turned"
and wanting to leave his current club of employ. In the English Premiership, Arsenal have endured
seemingly countless summers of speculation on when club captain Cesc Fabregas will leave for Spain
in a genetic quest to have his DNA properly aligned at the Camp Nou.
The annual exodus form the Arsenal playing staff is about to start with Cesc ready to seal a
£40M transfer to Barcelona this weekend. This is not a major surprise, but will he be greeted on
his return as Vieira, Toure and Henry were, or will it be another Anelka, Adebayor return?
Manchester City are rumoured to be on the verge of signing Clichy for £7M.
Lindpere was voted Red Bulls' MVP in his debut campaign last year.It isn't often that England scouts North America for talent, but any snippet of such transfer
rumour is newsworthy here on MLS UK.
The website of British newspaper Daily Mail has been analysing a range of possible transfers and
rating the likelihood of the switch taking place.
As the transfer rumour season gets under way, the press is busy slaughtering us for our lack of
activity.
Well let's look at what has happened so far.
Liverpool have spent £20M on an England u-21 international, a player who is not as good as
either Wilshere or Ramsey, so what did they expect us to do, spend money for the sake of spending
money?
Spanish Sports paper "AS" reports that Portuguese International & BENFICA player FABIO COENTRAO
could solve his future this week with Spanish Football Club REAL MADRID. This transfer rumour gets
stronger & stronger as the days go on which makes one think that there could be some real truth
behind it all.
It seems that transfer rumour is starting to veer slightly towards actual news as reports are
coming out that Spurs have had a £10.5m bid for the Brazilian Leandro Damiao turned down. However,
the suggestion is that his club are prepared to sell, so a little more cash could yet see Leandro
reporting for duty as a Tottenham player next season.

The name of Pablo Osvaldo is doing the transfer rumour rounds at the moment as the Espanyol
striker continues to be linked with a move to Spurs where some papers are suggesting he could link
up with Didier Drogba.
Osvaldo is a 25 year old Argentine-born Italy under-21 international who has been a hit in
Spain, where he averages over a goal every other game.

In amongst all the fallout from the City game last night, there is very little else to report,
but there is an interesting transfer rumour that is gaining a bit of momentum linking Spurs with
the talented Danish central defender Mathias Jorgensen.
Jorgensen is just 21 and has been with his current side, FC Copenhagen for four years.
He says very little, outside of the bland metronomic answers we come to expect from men in his
position so when Juventus Direttore Generale Beppe Marotta gave an honest and forthright interview
with Corriere dello Sport, we should be all ears. The site purposely avoids transfer rumour and
speculation but, much like this previous interview this seemed different from the outset.
What started as an unlikely transfer rumour has gained momentum overnight with a story linking
Spurs with former goalkeeper Paul Robinson.
Robbo left White Hart Lane in 2008 after four seasons with the club, but it seems Harry Redknapp
has never been completely happy with his keeping options at Spurs.
One current transfer rumour is highly disturbing: Matthew Upson is one of the defensive options
open to Arsene Wenger.
A few years ago Upson was a decent defender, maintaining his affiliation to Arsenal through a
plethora of injuries throughout his career. The question I have to ask is if Upson wasn't good
enough for us back in 2003 when he was actually a decent defender what makes Arsene think that he
is good enough for us now when he is clearly over the hill?
