Rumors are doing the rounds today both in papers and online that Liverpool are looking to
offload striker Andy Carroll, just one year after he was signed for a club record of £35million.
Personally I think this is just talk to feed the rumor mill.
Sure he hasn't lived up to his over inflated deadline day transfer just yet, but people need to
remember he is still only 23 and if it wasn't for a few great saves or the cross bar being a couple
of inches higher he would have an extra 3 or 4 goals this season and things wouldn't look all that
bad considering the minutes he has actually played.
The question of the summer is where will Wesley Sneijder be once the transfer window
closes? The Dutch international has been in pretty sensational form for Inter Milan since
his move from Real Madrid two seasons ago, leaving many teams interested in his signature. One of
those teams is Manchester United, since their midfield maestro Paul Scholes has
just retired.
I'm not sure whether this one is very credible or not, but reported are surfacing that
want-a-way Newcastle midfielder Joey Barton is on his way to Old
Trafford. Newcastle have already stated that Barton, who has been publicly critical of the
club on his Twitter page, can leave on a free transfer.
Tottenham playmaker Luka Modric is set to snub Premier League Champions Manchester
United for Chelsea, with the player stating he wants to stay in London.
However Tottenham are reluctant to sell their star-man, especially to London rivals Chelsea.
The signing of Miguel Madera, known more commonly as Michel, has been confirmed by AEK on the
club's site. The deal is a loan deal (the player was previously part of Birmingham's squad but
failed to make many appearances from what I read) with an option to buy. I can't say I know very
much about him, but he's said some good things about the club and seems to be happy with moving to
AEK.
