As we all know, Harry Redknapp has not even thought about becoming England manager. Given that the
possibility of him doing just that is on all major news bulletins, OTP wondered what exactly he is
thinking about. 1. Business investments 'Arry's still not got round to investing that money that
Milan Mandaric gave him to [.
Woolwich Arsenal, the club that changed football. Have your name in the book as an official
sponsor. Updated information here

So we only welcomed one really new player in this transfer window. Well it couldn't be the
August 31 every transfer deadline day.

Zamora and Cissé Can they keep QPR in the Premier League? - originally posted on
Soccerlens.com
Mark Hughes was very active on transfer deadline day, signing ex-Liverpool front man Djibril
Cissé from Lazio and re-uniting himself with Bobby Zamora from Fulham. Castrol EDGE Performance
analysis shows that with an impressive shooting accuracy of 57% and the ability to create a chance
for his teammates every 40 mins, Zamora looks set to play an important role in QPR's battle to
avoid relegation.
Notts County v Stevenage
Meadow Lane | League 1
4th February 2012 | 3:00pm kick off
Gary Smith's first game in charge was against Notts County last weekend and his first league
game will also be up against Martin Allen's side as Boro travel to Nottingham this Saturday.
Stevenage are still on a high from last weekend's Cup win and the bonus of drawing Tottenham in the
5th round.
Futbolitinos, the transfer deadline window is now shut! Seedy
agents all became instant millionaires when "under the table" deals were finalized yesterday,
including Coutinho's loan move from Inter Milan to Espanyol
(above).
It was, as things turned out, a mercifully quiet transfer deadline day, but the most curious
acquisition of the day ended up involving a young player with just a handful of first team
substitute appearances under his belt but also, it would seem, the capacity for potential
brilliance and and self-destruction in roughly equal measures.
On this week's Gadsby's England roundup, the utter absurdity of transfer deadline day, Wenger
says stop worrying about Wilshere for the Euros, Nathan Dyer tells Capello to make his England
dreams come true, and could Oxlade-Chamberlain do a Rooney Euro 2004, or are we overdoing it
again?
Wigan manager Roberto Martinez was left furious when Tottenham left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto was
allowed to remain on the pitch despite a high tackle that forced forward Franco Di Santo out of the
Latics' 3-1 defeat at White Hart Lane.
With his side firmly rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table, the only positive
Martinez could reflect on was the mild nature of Di Santo's injury.
By far the best arrival of Transfer Deadline Day was Benoit Assou Ekotto's crazy afro. The
Tottenham left-back has ditched his cornrows to rejuvenate his Jackson Five look, and we can only
applaud. Excellent work, Benoit.
1. There's not too many Manchester United fans moaning this morning that Darron Gibson is a
one-trick pony who only hits piledrivers from the edge of the box. 2. Manchester City goalkeeper
Joe Hart didn't realise that having a man on the post was an occupational hazard rather than a
tactical decision at Goodison Park.
1. No, Roberto Mancini, you completely misheard Arsene Wenger. He said a pizza row would help you
finish ahead of Manchester United, not Pizarro. 2. Chelsea's deal to send Belgian manboy Kevin De
Bruyen back to Genk on-loan includes a break clause that says if the 20-year-old hasn't hit puberty
by June then the deal [.
With the International Transfer Deadline producing a flurry of player movement and even more
rumors and speculation, MLS witnessed a prominent striker of their own swap jerseys.
The Vancouver Whitecaps announced Tuesday afternoon that they have acquired All-Star Sebastien
Le Toux from the Philadelphia Union in exchange for allocation money.
Arsenal's newest midfielder Thomas Eisfeld has made it known that he is proud to be chosen as a
Gunner, particularly as he aims to strike a partnership with Tomas Rosicky a man he grew up
watching at Borussia Dortmund.
The 19-year old Eisfeld arrived from Dortmund yesterday to complete his move to North London
ahead of the transfer deadline and after being unveiled, the youngster pledged to make both his
current and former club proud.
When transfer deadline day rolls around, Sky Sports News' Jim White gets more excited than a
puppy attached to a leash made of bacon. So excited, in fact, that sometimes his mouth is so
overeager to spit out the latest transfer dealings that it creates a perfect sized opening for his
foot.
This used to be everyday at BMO Field. Sigh.We love us a transfer deadline day. The
MLS one is kind of fun for trades but with the multiple windows it can get a bit muddled. On the
flipside, when UEFA shuts its window twice a year - it is quite the spectacle. Teams scrapping it
out for the title trying to bring in a useful mercenary while minnows try to avoid relegation with
a timely loan signing or keep the club alive by selling an asset for big money.

European transfer deadline day has proved to be fruitful for one American abroad.
Mikkel Diskerud has been loaned from Stabaek in his native Norway to Belgian top flight club KAA
Gent, the club announced on Tuesday. The loan comes with an option to buy at the end of the season
and gives Diskerud a chance to prove his worth for a different club for the first time in his brief
career.
On the train going to the match. Things might actually be looking up for the blues with new blood
coming in to freshen up a squad in danger of going stale.
Odd to have games on transfer deadline day but hopefully all our business is done with a
midfielder, a striker and a defender all signed up and possibly a big earner off the books
(although I can't see Saha going to Spurs).
With the exception of January 2011, Spurs have often thrown up a surprise at the fag end of a
transfer window but it's doubtful as to whether any Tottenham fans would have woken up this morning
expecting Louis Saha to be wearing a Lilywhite shirt at the end of the day.
The chain of events seems to have sparked off by Rangers' acceptance of Everton's bid for Nikica
Jelavic which left Saha, who was already struggling at Goodison, surplus to requirements.
This could be an eventful day. And then again, no- as Elton John would say. I'm not sure what
the implications will be of having a whole round of Premier League fixtures on the same evening as
the transfer deadline, but to me it sounds a spot iffy. For managers looking to get shot of a bit
of dead wood, I suppose, it's probably ideal.
The saga is finally over, but it unfortunately is not the result that Philadelphia Union fans
were hoping it to be.
Sebastien Le Toux's trade to the Vancouver Whitecaps is now official, a source close to the
situation told the Brotherly Game. The source did not know of the details of what the trade would
involve, other than Le Toux heading to Canada.

Arsenal have signed this guy to partner RVP. Alive and kicking?
If you are an Arsenal fan, your level of excitement should be deader than a dodo.
Wayne Bridge goes to Sunderland and Arsenal can heave a sigh of relief. Ravel Morrison, the Man
Utd teenager with a self destructive streak but the skills of a young Paul Scholes, goes to West
Ham.
As in summer, there will soon be a transfer deadline ticker over at MLSS, which I'll be stocking
with as much scene-setting and deal-clinching as we can find.Since that won't begin for an hour or
so, let's kick off the day with a couple bits. First off, it now seems Charlie Davies will be
remaining at Sochaux.

What with it being Transfer Deadline Day and all, we diligent folks at Pies are going to
endeavour to keep you abreast of all the confirmed moves, rubber-stamped loans and the most goddamn
ludicrous rumours that crop up until the window shuts tonight or at least until we can't be arsed
any more.
Ah hell. Not this shit again.
Oh joy. We've reached that special day of days in which insanity and panic trumps all. Well, you
know, perhaps it's money that trumps all. Yeah, it's the cake.
This is January transfer deadline day. A war amongst men. Not really, but you know what I'm
getting at.
Like an outdated fantasy league auction, the new Premier League Soccer featuring six teams based
in the eastern Indian state of West Bengal bid for the rights to sign several "icon" players."
Hernan Crespo, who scored nine goals for Parma last season, drew the highest bid and went for
$840,000 (£536,000) at the sprightly age of 36.
Superstitious Manchester United fans will be glad when the transfer window closes after TV quiz
Countdown seemed to predict Wayne Rooney's departure from Old Trafford. The word game through up
the letters 'ROONISOUT' during today's show. The timing could not have been eerier for United fans,
just hours before the transfer deadline day circus gets [.
With Liverpool set to face Wolves on transfer deadline day, there was always some worry on our
end as to how we'd manage to fit in both match coverage and any last-minute transfer insanity.
Turns out that the club and Kenny Dalglish were fully sympathetic to our concerns, as today the
official site put out a brief statement from Dalglish that under no circumstance will any new
senior players be brought in before midnight in Paris on Tuesday.
Everton has leapfrogged West Ham, Queens Park Rangers, and cross-town rivals Liverpool in being
the front-runners to sign Rangers striker Nikica Jelavic.
The Toffees, who have scored only 22 goals this season a total that is only higher than
bottom-club Wigan are in search for a finisher with a proven pedigree and Jelavic offers an
affordable option to cover their needs.

Newcastle will try to do a loan deal if they cannot tie up Watford's Adrian Mariappa before
Tuesday's transfer deadline. Adrian Mariappa unlikely to be joining Newcastle Newcastle have not
been too lucky with loan deals over the last few years, and two that immediately come to mind are
Uruguayan Ignacio Gonzalez and Stephen Ireland, both [.

this week's KYW Philly Soccer Show.
In part one, KYW's Greg Orlandini and Philly Soccer Page writer Eli Pearlman-Storch kick of

the 2012 winter transfer window that involve a Premier League club in some form or the other.
The latest from the Carlos Tevez transfer saga reveals that the striker has reached an agreement
with Italian giants AC Milan. According to Milan Vice President Adriano Galliani, an agreement
between Tevez, City and Milan has already been reached.
Of course this only creates more controversy as Milan's city rivals Inter are also thought to be
still interested in Tevez despite Milan's arrangement.
Arsenal ensured their 125th birthday celebrations were marked with a victory when defeating
Everton 1-0 at Emirates Stadium in the Premier League thanks to a goal of outstanding beauty from
Robin van Persie.
Just a day after the club unveiled statues of Herbert Chapman, Tony Adams and Thierry Henry
outside their ground, Van Persie demonstrated why he may one day attain legendary status of his own
in Islington with his 15th and best league goal of a wonderful season.

Lots of Arsenal news filtering through this morning, not least of which is the report alerting
us that Peter Hill-Wood does not expect to open contract talks with Robin van Persie until the end
of the season.
RVP's current deal is due to expire in 2013 and, obv, AW and the like are keen to get him to
sign a new but apparently he does not want to do that until the summer.

Sir Alex Ferguson choked back the tears when the Manchester United people unveiled a stand in
his name. It was a fitting tribute to a legend of the game and so much more pertinent to honour the
man while he is still alive and running the club. Club allegiance aside, hats off to the man 25
years at the helm of the biggest club in world football and enjoying unparalleled success in
trophies and medals deserves mention and accolade.
