Union looking to reward departing Barnetta with long playoff push

Soccer By Ives at related • 0 views

When Tranquillo Barnetta leaves the Philadelphia Union at the end of the season, his presence will be missed in many aspects.

That is why Union boss Jim Curtin called the 31-year-old Swiss midfielder the best player in club history during his weekly press conference on Wednesday.

"Pedigree-wise what he brought to the locker room, what he brings to young players, his talent on the field, the best player to wear a Philadelphia Union jersey in my opinion," Curtin said.

Player rating results: What has happened to CJ Sapong?

Brotherly Game at related • 0 views

CJ Sapong is suffering from a drought in shots.

Before we get started, apologies are in order. We listed Alejandro Bedoya twice in the survey this week and accidentally omitted the goalscorer Tranquillo Barnetta. I've dropped in an estimate for Barnetta based on past games like he's had this year but there is no official rating for him this week.
