Henry didn’t become a fraud on Wednesday; the story goes way back…

Soccer Pie 21 November @ 03:47 AM EST

The thing that we all knew happened: Henry is a fraud. However, in the tradition of French smooth frauds he is someone who made it into an art; in his country the books about thieves are popular.

But the ‘hand' is not the only thing that makes Henry what he is; it is simply incredible how people in England or football fans in general forget all the things this man did.

Mike Ashley Must Really Hate Newcastle United

Twohundredpercent 04 November @ 06:18 PM EST

When the story first broke that Newcastle United's Mike Ashley had decided to sell the naming rights to St James Park, it seemed unlikely that he was doing it with the best interests of the supporters of the club at heart. However, the confirmation made this week that for the rest of this season St James Park will be known as "sportsdirect.

Ronaldo On… Chelsea Defender, City Money and Playing For Another English Club

Republik Of Mancunia 31 October @ 07:04 AM EST

Cristiano Ronaldo has today compared the Premiership with La Liga, claiming that our defenders are a lot tougher than the ones he's come across in Spain, with him particularly fond of the duels he had with Ashley Cole.

As for City, Ronaldo says no amount of money can buy the history and success United have enjoyed and there is no way he would play for any English club other than United.

Nev: I’m A United Fan So Of Course I Want Liverpool To Lose

Republik Of Mancunia 23 October @ 11:27 AM EST

Ahead of the last meeting between Manchester United and Liverpool, Wayne Rooney claimed he hated Liverpool. The following day we got thumped 4-1 and our favourable position in the league started to look increasingly shaky and the bragging rights were lost.

So ahead of Sunday's game, another big scouse-hater has been interviewed, but he has gone for the more diplomatic approach, talking of his respect for Liverpool, whilst still acknowledging the rivalry.

Nothing Bounces Like Beach Ball: Ask Liverpool FC

EPL Talk 20 October @ 08:05 AM EST

Did Graham Poll blow the call? Yeah, sure. I suppose it could be also be argued that Darren Bent struck the ball flush, that it's path was not diverted by the beach ball and that Pepe Reina should have kept his eyes on the more important ball. But the question of far more importance is why would any fan, let alone one at his own team's end, bat a beach ball onto the pitch?

A Look At: Genious Does As it Must

A Liverpool Thing 19 October @ 07:00 AM EST
Book Review: Genius Does as it Must - Liverpool FC Banners Compiled by Chris McLoughlin and Adam Oldfield
When people talk about the atmosphere at Anfield, particularly on a European night, they often refer to the singing and the raw emotion that there is in the ground. Too often, they fail to pick up on an important element that distinguishes Liverpool fans from many of their English counterparts: the banners that adorn the stands. Click to continue reading...

Bonek blame price rises

Jakarta Casual 14 October @ 10:59 PM EST
I was surprised to see the attendance at yesterday's ISL game between Persebaya and Bontang given as less than 4,000. This for a newly promoted side rich in tradition who took 6,000 to their play off against PSMS at Soreang earlier in the year.
It seems the club's supporters, known as Bonek, are peeved at the hike in ticket prices. Click to continue reading...

The MLS and Football in general is going in the right direction in North America. Because of this, MLS needs two things. First, they need to figure out what their goals are. I'm sure Don Garber has them written down, I would just like them to be more transparent to the public.

Revamped Logo A Smashing Hit

Pistolas F.C. 27 September @ 01:00 PM EST
LONDON - One of the things that the executive committee discussed for the revamped team of 2010, was a slight change to the logo. Once again, the artists at NCLStudios.com were able to oblige; and they did not disappoint!
Sitting down to discuss the ideas, it became clear that the design of the logo itself was not to be tampered with as it has been a hit since day one, and a tradition at the club. Click to continue reading...

Another Creepy Mascot

I suppose it's part of the tradition of the World Cup nowadays to have a lame mascot. Nice to see that FIFA hasn't let us down with the 2010 iteration. Who’s Going to Separate? Is It Too Early to Tell…

La Liga Report 18 September @ 09:30 AM EST

With Barcelona, Valencia, Real Madrid and Bilbao all atop the standings it appears that someone needs to step up and separate themselves from the pack. Unfortunately, it's too early to tell who that will be.

I spent an entire previous column lamenting how the major acquisitions for Real Madrid might derail their entire club:Â Well, right now they're making me look good.
