Sebastien Le Toux's departure from the Philadelphia Union certainly made headlines. There was much
made of the incident after the player came out and spoke his side of the story. It was emotional
and troublesome that, according to Le Toux, a professional club in MLS would dismiss a player in
such fashion.
Philadelphia Union fans have been dealt heavy blows of late. Their veteran goalkeeper was sent away
and within days, the face of their franchise was traded away and not to the glamour of the English
Premier League. Rather, Sebastien Le Toux is finding his way up north, to Vancouver.
Officially, Le Toux was let go for allocation money.
Today, everything changed. The Union traded Le Toux to the Vancouver Whitecaps, where he'll play
alongside Eric Hassli. Eric FUCKING Hassli. Though also French, Hassli earned three red cards in
his debut MLS season. Remember when Woody and Buzz ended up in Sid's hands?

This news had been around for some time. The New York Red Bulls and the Chicago Fire finally
made it official today though. Wilman Conde is finally going to the Big Apple.
The fun part about this deal however is that it is really a few years too late.
The process that brought him in was a little unexpected, but the end result really wasn't. Today,
Sporting KC acquired the rights to former San Jose Earthquakes draft pick, Michael Thomas for a 4th
round Supplemental draft pick, the 73rd overall. The fact that Sporting had to give something to
San Jose for Thomas is the surprising part.
Sporting Kansas City continued their busy start to the offseason, making another trade. This time,
the team brought in left sided midfielder/back, Bobby Convey from the San Jose Earthquakes. In
return, Sporting KC is sending an international roster spot to the Quakes. A bit of a surprising
move for KC sending the international spot to San Jose, as KC will now go from 9 international
spots to 7, the other spot KC is losing is because it's expiring from the Adam Cristman trade with
DC.
Robb Heineman posted on Twitter today that pending one more approval another player would be
joining "US". As I was talking about the announcement on Twitter, I'd assumed it was a new player
signing. I tried to not get fans too excited about the move because if it happened tomorrow it was
unlikely to be announced at that time due to league rules.
The final of the three announcements for yesterday was finally made earlier today with the
announcement that Sporting KC had acquired Chivas USA midfielder, Paulo Nagamura. In return,
Sporting KC sent the 1st round Supplemental draft pick that KC originally received from Chivas in
the Ryan Smith trade.

Sporting KC was busy today, making one trade, another player announcement, and talk of a second
trade taking place. It started during the weekend with a Tweet by Robb Heineman stating that there
would be an announcement today. At 1:30 we got the first of the announcements, a surprising trade.
Just when Sporting Kansas City thought they lost defender Seth Sinovic, they get him back. Today
Sporting and the Montreal Impact worked out a little deal to send the expansion draft pick back to
Kansas City, along with allocation money, for veteran defender Davy Arnuad.
The 31-year old Arnaud, played 10 seasons for Sporting Kansas City after being drafted in the
2002 MLS SuperDraft out of West Texas A&M.
Sporting KC started a busy day today by announcing a trade with Chivas USA. Kansas City sent
midfielder Ryan Smith to Chivas USA for 2 supplemental draft picks in the upcoming draft. Both
sides can see this as a win for them. From Kansas City's perspective, they get something for
nothing. Smith's time in Kansas City was over.
Most Kansas City fans probably didn't expect Guadeloupe midfielder Stephane Auvray to play another
game for the Wizards ever after he had basically disappeared from training almost 2 months ago.
Today that became official as Sporting KC traded the midfielder to the New York Red Bulls. In
return, Kansas City get the Red Bulls second round pick in 2013.

In search of some midfield depth, the New York Red Bulls have gone out and made a deal today.
The club has sent a 2nd round pick in the 2013 MLS SuperDraft to Sporting Kansas City for
Guadeloupe defensive midfielder Stephane Auvray.
De Rosario will play for D.C. United
Interesting is an understatement in the latest league trade. The New York Red Bulls traded league
veteran and elite midfielder Dwayne De Rosario to D.C. United for the younger and less proven Dax
McCarty. Both teams have been underperforming as of late.

Yes, this is indeed real. Dwayne De Rosario has been traded from the New York Red Bulls to D.C.
United in exchange for Dax McCarty.
Let that one sink in for a moment. DeRo for Dax. Straight up.
De Rosario began the 2011 MLS season with Toronto FC, registering one goal and one assist in two
matches before being dealt to the New York Red Bulls on April 1.

The Weekly Five. Each week I address a topic by presenting a list of five
examples that support, oppose or simply relate to the subject.
There is no doubt that the English Premiership, one of the top (if not
the) best soccer
leagues in the world, is better than Major League Soccer.
In a move that was surprising but not incredibly shocking, Sporting KC traded midfielder, Jack
Jewsbury to expansion side, Portland Timbers for allocation money. Jewsbury's playing time reduced
last season as Craig Rocastle started to adjust better to MLS soccer and with his salary close to
$150,000, this trade gives KC allocation money to use and more salary space to use.
The Philadelphia Union traded midfielder Andrew Jacobson to FC Dallas in exchange for a 2nd
round draft pick in 2013.
Jacobson started 13 games for the U in 2010, logging 18 shots, 8 on goal. He became extra parts
when The Union acquired Brian Carroll as their 18th center midfielder (kidding!
The deals just keep on coming for FC Dallas and honestly I don't see them stopping here with
this news today. The club has announced they have acquired midfielder Andrew Jacobson from the
Philadelphia Union in exchange for the club's second round natural selection in the 2013 Major
League Soccer SuperDraft,
"I'm very happy to have Andrew join FC Dallas," said head coach Schellas Hyndman.
It's an interesting perspective, considering SH's track record of removing people that don't get
on the "bus". And we all know about his and Pearce's little spat at the end of the year. That
said, Buzz Carrick over at 3rd Degree has a quote from Technical Director Barry Gorman, regarding
the trade:
Via 3rd Degree:
"We try to keep the coaches out of the direct line with these things.
Chivas USA continues to make deals. Today, they traded midfielder Sal Zizzo to the Portland
Timbers in exchange for allocation money.
The 23-year old played in 10 games last season with Chivas while contributing one assist. He was
acquired by Chivas USA in a weighted lottery after signing with MLS in July 2010.
I made the trek over to Frisco and Pizza Hut Park today to catch the scrimmage between FCD and
Houston Baptist University, and overheard a bit of interesting news. Heath Pearce, who didn't
participate in the scrimmage but did rehab a bit on the side, made his way down the line of
teammates, informing them he had been traded to Chivas.
FRISCO, Texas — Major League Soccer side Dallas has signed 31-year-old Brazilian midfielder
Ricardo Villar from Spielvereinigung Unterhaching of the German third division. Villar played for
Pennsylvania State University from 1997-01 after playing youth soccer at Sao Paulo. He was with
Hampton Roads and Pittsburgh in the U.

It seems that everything is changing and everything remains the same. Last year the Galaxy had a
fairly solid back line, an unsettled midfield, and a shaky strike force.
ALGIERS, Algeria – The national soccer league in Algeria has canceled matches scheduled for
Friday and Saturday after riots in the capital and elsewhere this week. The Algerian National
Football League announced the cancellations in Al Watan, a local newspaper. The matches were
canceled in an effort to prevent large groups of young people from [.
LONDON, England Drug smugglers tried to transport a kilo of cannabis within a wooden framed
painting of Manchester City footballer Emmanuel Adebayor last year, the UK Border Agency said on
Thursday. The painting was sent from Togo destined for an address in Tottenham, north London, and
was discovered at a postal hub in Coventry.
