Africa's finest are back. The African Cup of Nations 2012 is just days away now
and with that it is time to crank up the coverage on Just Football. Since starting
the site back in 2007 we have followed both the 2008 and 2010 Nations Cups very closely with
reports, reviews and analysis, and will continue to do so in 2012 as the competition moves north
from Angola to Equatorial Guinea and Gabon.

When TP Mazembe won their second leg against Wydad Casablanca by two goals to nil, overturning a
first leg 1-0 defeat, it looked certain that they had made the group stages of the CAF Champions
League. However, a protest from Simba Sports of Tanzania (who Mazembe had knocked out in a previous
round) regarding the eligibility of Mazembe defender Janvier Bokungu was heard by CAF and the
African giants TP Mazembe were thrown out of the competition.

Last week the Prelimiary Round of the CAF Champions League was completed. 23 sides from across
Africa will now join the 9 seeds in the First Round proper that kicks off on the weekend of the
19th March.
It's been a turbulent time in Africa for many of the North African teams involved in the
competition.
