Harry Kewell is back to play in Australia, in the A-League and I like most other football fans are
delighted.
Sure on Twitter, The Australian's Ray Gatt and surprisingly The Age's Mick Lynch, have been
defending the so-called "opinion piece" from Sydney Morning Herald writer and Fox Sports
Commentator Mike Cockerill on Harry's return - oh how Mike despises Harry.
Yes, NBC Sports relationship with soccer isn't historically strong. Their connection with the
NHL and the Tour de France wasn't strong either, and then they took those on and have more than
succeeded. NBC and Versus have managed to create a strong hockey presence, and that's the hope of
every Major League Soccer fan with the new agreement that starts in 2012.
Cadel Evans has been close before but the 2011 Tour de France was finally his time to shine. The
Australian cyclist became the first athlete from his country to win the most famous bike race in
the world. The 34-year-old also became the oldest winner of the Tour de France in more than a
generation.

during stage 19 of the Tour de France today, as Andy Schleck took the coveted Yellow Jersey from
leader Thomas Voeckler.

2011 Tour De France riders Juan Antonio Flecha and Johnny Hoogerland were lucky to
escape with their lives as a TV Car causes them to crash into one another, with Hoogerland
flipping over Barb Wire fencing which ripped the Dutch man to Shreds.
Its appropriate that Colorado, home to the Garmin-Cervelo pro bike racing team and so many American
bike racers, is going to Livestrong Park tomorrow during the first week of the Tour de France (can
you tell one of my other interests is bicycle racing?). Kansas City finally got a home of their own
and this will be the Rapids first look at it.

LIVESTRONG Sporting Park. Photo Courtesy of SportingKC.comOn March 8th Sporting Kansas City and the
cancer-fighting foundation Livestrong (begun by seven-time Tour de France winner and cancer
survivor Lance Armstrong) announced that the new soccer-specific stadium in town would now be
called, "Livestrong Sporting Park".
Former Barcelona president Joan Laporta says that is was Real Madrid executives who were indeed
behind the recent doping allegations against Barcelona, despite recent statements from current
Barca officials that refute talk of Real Madrid' involvement, AS reports.
Spanish radio station Cadena Cope sparked controversy recently when it reported that Barcelona
had links to doctors with questionable reputations and that drug testing should be taken more
seriously in La Liga.
Longtime Sports Illustrated soccer writer Grant Wahl has announced: "I'm running for the
presidency of FIFA in the election to be held on June 1. And no, I'm not kidding. Have you seen who
else is running? That's right: Sepp Blatter, the 74-year-old Swiss strongman atop the world's most
popular sport, is campaigning for his fourth term.
With Fabianksi out for the rest of the season, we're only one injury away from Manuel Almunia
resuming his position as Arsenal's starting goalkeeper.
Let's say Szczesney picks up a knock in training or gets Shawcrossed on Wednesday night it would
mean Big Al coming in for a string of important games that could include Barcelona away and the
Carling Cup Final.

American journo Grant Wahl (he who be responsible for writing 'The Beckham Experiment') has
outlined his manifesto and joined the running for the FIFA presidency.
Wahl, the senior 'soccer' writer over at Sports Illustrated, used an article entitled 'It's time
for someone to depose Sepp Blatter as FIFA's leader' to announce his decision to enter himself as a
candidate and plans to go up against incumbent president Blatter when the leadership elections come
around this June.
Y'all seen the new RBNY away kits? It's the thingy in the image above. Love that they dropped the
Tour-de-France faux-zipper/button thing of the last few years and brought in something minimal. I
think for the first time since the rebrand they've actually produced a jersey that I would wear
outside of a matchday.
