An Egyptian TV station managed an interview with Bob Bradley in the aftermath of yesterday's horrible tragedy at Al-Masry. As you can see above, he and his wife took part in a march against such things today - you certainly have got to admire the toughness of that clan.First though, I just have one thing to ask.

Mark Hughes, QPR and the “a” word

The thing with Mark Hughes is that we don't really know why he left Fulham. There were various comments after the event mentioning a lack of ambition, which loosely translated seemed to mean "Fulham wouldn't pony up £15m for Pablo Osvaldo". Hughes had a 'get out' day in his contract and (out of nowhere, it seemed) used that clause to escape SW6.

I had the chance to visit with a high school basketball team yesterday, and in their pre-practice meeting, they were referring to an article that I had also once written about a couple of years back. The article had to do with toughness, which ESPN's Jay Bilas has a pretty good reference point about.

Steven Gerrard in shock drug use confession!

Steven Gerrard's legendary toughness may see him return to Liverpool duty over the festive period, well ahead of schedule after his ankle operation. Yet perhaps the Liverpool skipper isn't quite as hard as we all think. Discussing the birth of his children, Stevie G said: "I had a go on the gas and air when Lilly was born because it was such a shock – it's good!

Editor's note: At the end of the 2010 season, we posted a series of season reviews of every Philadelphia Union player. Over the next several weeks PSP continues with a review of the 2011 season.

In the Philadelphia Union's signature win of 2011, a 1-0 home victory over the New York Red Bulls, praise was deservedly lavished on the two second half substitutes who combined for the winning tally.

Via a really well written Jason Quick piece. I wish he would write Timbers more often. In addition to this stuff, there's some quality stuff on Paulson himself. Great article. Juicy article.

There has been some fairly scary (to me, anyway) financial talk in the past, but Paulson sounds really ambitious in this article:

"We are already looking at three to four guys who will be big, big additions in this offseason.

Jordan Harvey will add some toughness to the Whitecaps backline. (Getty Images)

This could very well be one of the oddest trades I've seen. The Philadelphia Union have traded defender Jordan Harvey to the Vancouver Whitecaps for allocation money.

Harvey had been a key player for the Union, making 16 starts for a defense that had yielded the second fewest goals in the league.

The Philadelphia Union has allowed an Eastern Conference-low 16 goals, and while the team is hoping to continue that defensive toughness during the second half of the season, it will have to do so without Jordan Harvey.

The Union traded Harvey to the Vancouver Whitecaps in exchange for allocation money on Thursday.

It is disappointing that the Union did not beat the Rapids. At the start of this season I never thought I would be anything less than pleased to see the Union picking up a point at Colorado. So there is a silver lining to this disappointment. It means this team is capable of still more.

It is hard to ask for more from the Union's back four though.

A tie at the end of a stretch of three games in eight days, on the road against a team riding a six-match unbeaten streak and doing it without several starters available isn't the worst result in the world, but it was hardly confidence inspiring either. Give the Seattle Sounders credit for pulling out a point, though, as they definitely looked like a tired bunch by the time the final whistle blew in their 1-1 tie against the Columbus Crew.
