The Milwaukee Wave have the top offense in the Major Indoor Soccer League, even if they don't
have any of the league's top scorers.
The defending champions showed off their deep attack again Monday night, as Marco
Terminesi scored four goals and Nick Perera and Ian Bennett added two apiece in a
23-10 victory over the host Rochester Lancers in a match watched by 5,212 fans.
Marco Reus, the rising star in the German Bundesliga having helped Borussia Mönchengladbach to
a respectable fourth place during the winter break, will be leaving the club at the end of the
season to play for Borussia Dortmund.
It was announced today on Mönchengladbach's website that the player will remain at the club for
the 2011-12 season before signing a five year deal with the current German champions Dortmund for a
transfer fee of 17,5 million Euros.
Normal service was resumed for 10-man Manchester City as they once again put daylight between
themselves and rivals Manchester United at the top of the Barclays Premier League table with
victory over Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium.
After just one point and no goals from two matches, they were given an easy ride on their way to
opening up a three-point cushion over their neighbours, who will try to reduce the gap again at
Newcastle.
Ever since Pep said this: "Because of the injury of Villa we're thinking about promoting
Soriano. Problem is he then can't go back to the B-team" in his press conference today, I've
been getting q lot of questions about Soriano and his possible promotion. I'm going to address
hopefully everything here, adapted from the transfer piece I wrote last summer.
Real Madrid and Barcelona prepare to face off tomorrow in the much awaited clasico at the
Santiago Bernabeu. The match will offer hosts Madrid the chance to extend their lead over Barcelona
should they win and keep them level on points with the Catalans in case they lose.
A loss however is not on the mind of Jose Mourinho who is looking to extend Madrid's 9 game home
winning streak.
MLS has released its list of eligible players for this year's Re-Entry Draft, and it features
three New England Revolution players. Ryan Cochrane, Kheli Dube, and Pat Phelan will be available
for selection by other MLS clubs after their options for the 2012 season were declined. Stage one
of the draft will take place on Monday, December 5th.
One word... Bale. That's all. Since Spurs finally realized he wasn't a left back and moved him up
to left mid like he plays for Wales, he's been on fire. Today, only 2 goals, but when was the last
time one of your team's top scorers was a left mid? Just saying. Spurs roll, 3-1 at White Hart
Lane.

Oh yes, it is that time of the year again when teams are going to have to start paying attention
to who they want to keep and not keep for the 2012 season. Over the next couple of weeks I'll have
every team covered for this year's expansion draft.
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - The Virginia men's soccer team returns home at 7 p.m. Friday for an ACC
clash with No. 2 Maryland at Klöckner Stadium. The ACC's Regional Sports Networks will televise
the match live.
VSComcast Sports Mid-Atlantic, Sun Sports, NESN and Fox Sports Prime Ticket all will show the contest

Tomorrow is Labor Day here in the United States. So naturally, I've been thinking about how we
measure work performance in football. It's also a long weekend, with most people off from work for
three days. If they spending it catching up on the Premier League season so far, they could be
forgiven for scratching their heads upon finding out that last year's top scorers in the Premier
League Dimitar Berbatov and Carlos Tevez have yet to start a singe match this season.
By DAVID MOSSE
The first half of the Brazilian Championship came to a close this weekend with a number of local
derbies highlighting the schedule. It's all part of a strategy to avoid teams fielding
second-string lineups in the final round of the competition, and the most fascinating matchup took
place on Sunday between Santos and Sao Paulo.
Benfica Portugal
Last season: 2nd in the league, 21 points behind Porto. Semi-finals of Europa League. Winners of
the League Cup.
This season: 3rd out of 16. 2 points behind the leaders.
Last season's top scorers: Javier Saviola (9) and Óscar Cardozo (9).
European success: 2 European Cups (1961 and 1962).
I think we can all agree football is broken. Whilst millions of pounds are being spent on
players like Jordan Henderson and Andy Carroll, famous clubs like Wrexham are struggling to
survive. My ten point plan will not save football in its entirety, but it will help make it a darn
sight more enjoyable.

It is a quirky system that requires two-thirds of the matches to knock out one-third of the
entrants. But the opportunity for a well-placed third-placed team in a group to qualify for the
last-16 gave us what drama there was in the third series of matches at the Under-20s World Cup...
and perhaps the most bizarre qualification in recent tournament football history.

The Players
As it stands there are barely any personnel changes so the playing staff remains reassuringly
familiar.
Admittedly I was a bit slow to publish this...so with the added benefit of one performance,
here's the League Two preview!
Who's Looking Good?
Crawley Town: Most bookies favourites, Crawley have the biggest budget in the
league, momentum to die for, and probably the deadliest striker in the division in Matt Tubbs.
Our opening game in League 1 is against a familiar friend in the shape of Exeter City. Whilst
many are looking forward to going up against the big boys of Sheffield Wednesday, Charlton, Preston
and Sheffield United this season, our first test in the 3rd tier of English football is against the
Grecians, who we battled in the Conference just a few years ago.
The news of the arrival of Sergio Aguero at Manchester City must have sent shivers down the
spine of the club's rivals; not only have they secured the signature of one of the hottest
footballing talents in the world, but they have sent out a pretty serious message out: no longer
are they just the noisy neighbours making a racket from afar.

A) Colombia v Peru 16:00

Sun 17th July
C) Brazil v Paraguay 16:00
D) Chile v Venezuela 19:15
Semi-finals: 19th July A v B, 20th July
C v D;
Final: 24th July
It's still all set for a traditional Brazil v Argentina final on the 24th of July but Argentina's
ropey form in their first two games means the hosts' passage to Buenos Aires is less than
certain.
The Spanish Under-21 national team was celebrating on Saturday night after defeating a dogged
Switzerland team by two goals to nil in Århus , Denmark. The win sealed Spain's third title in
this tournament (the others were in 1986 and 1998) and ensured that the future, as well as the
present, for Spanish football remains bright.
As a football club Phnom Penh Crown are doing much right. There is a professionalism about them
that appears to be lacking in other CLeague clubs. They have a small range ofmerchandising
available and, more important, they are investing in youth with an academy designed to attract the
kingdom's finest talents.
Philadelphia Union striker Carlos Ruiz is apparently on Puebla FC's transfer radar, according to
Periodico Digital.
Puebla wants to bring in "reinforcements" to improve the Mexican Primera Division club's title
chances for the upcoming season. Finishing thirteenth in 2011, Puebla failed produce a winning side
once, and did not progress into the league playoffs, finishing third in their group.
Ajax may won the Eredivisie this season, but the traditional powerhouses of Dutch football
were frozen out in the top goalscorers list where, as Luke Edwards explains, the
names at the top came from somewhat unexpected sources.
Normally, if you were to take a glance at the top scorers in the Eredivisie you would expect see
representatives from the big three of Ajax, PSV or Feyernoord.
Two groups on going, one in Jayapura, the other East Kalimantan.

Persidafon are through to the semi finals. The second place is up for grabs between Persiram and
Persiraja with the 2nd placed team from Raja Ampat holding all the aces.

Now that the shock has worn down from four Brazilian teams being ousted in the Copa
Libertadores Round of 16, which concluded last week, the focus is now on the remaining
quarterfinalists, which represent seven nations. The tournament doesn't have the usual overflow of
Argentine or Brazilian teams at this stage yet each country still has a representative not only in
contention but also considered favorites to lift the continent's most coveted trophy.
AFC Champions League
Jeonbuk v Arema 6-0
4 - Arema 6 0 1 5 2-22 1
Well I can't see any Indonesian teams being allowed to compete in the ACL in the future. It just
isn't a priority for them and long flights overseas aren't exciting when you spend half the season
on planes anyway.
Following on from yesterday's article which argued against the section of United fans who have
been critical off Dimitar Berbatov because of his goal distribution, we will now be looking at how
he compares with all our top scorers during the Premier League years.
We have looked at how many goals each of our top scorers have managed as well as how many goals
they have scored without penalties (to paint a fairer picture for our top scorers who weren't the
team's penalty takers, like Hughes, Kanchelskis, Solskjaer, Cole, Yorke, Berba etc.
After spending the first two years of his Manchester United career being criticised by large
sections of our support, Dimitar Berbatov has shone this year. He was the first Premier League
striker to ten goals, then the first to twenty goals and with three games left to go, he is still
the league's top scorer.
As I said a few days back the SLeague is already shaping into another classic season and I am
really looking forward to my next visit there. Dunno when mind!
These are the results of recent days I have missed. There have been some changes to the schedule
and I don't have the latest one so am kind of in the dark on what's on the horizon!
The last time the Quakes were in New York, they snatched a playoff victory from the Red Bulls,
along with advancement to the Eastern Conference Finals, with a 3-1 victory. This season both teams
are currently sitting on 5 points after 4 games. Technically the Quakes are having a better run of
form as they are undefeated in their last 3 games while New York is coming off a 1-0 loss to local
rivals Philadelphia.
Millwall: The Lions hungry for slice of Premier League pie is a post from: Just Football
The three teams promoted from League One last season have taken the Championship by storm.
Norwich City, Leeds United and Millwall all occupy positions in the top eight and, with five league
games remaining, are in with a shout of back-to-back promotions.
No hops should count twice.

With the upcoming FIFA fixture date falling on an MLS Saturday, many players in the league
figured to be missing a match while on international duty.
Unfortunately for MLS fans, among those players happens to be one of the league's all-time
greats and one of the league's top scorers missing one of the season's most anticipated
matches.
It's been a tough past couple of days for Manchester United fans like myself.
Ryan Donovan writes of some of the issues that have been exposed in losses at Chelsea and
Liverpool, and potential areas of concerns that need to be addressed when the transfer window opens
again this summer.
A horror show of officiating cost United at Chelsea for the third game running, while yesterday
there were some more decisions that went against us—but that shouldn't be an excuse for that dire
performance.
Out of the top leagues in Europe (Spain, England, Italy, Germany and France), Barcelona have
scored the most goals and maintained highest goals per game ratio. They have scored 67 goals in
their 21 La Liga games so far this season an average of 3.19 goals per game. Barca have only
conceded 11 goals in their matches; roughly one goal every two games.
Below you'll find a list of the all-time top scorers in the Premier League. More specifically,
you'll find every Premier League player in the 100 club, meaning they've scored 100 Premier League
goals or more.
The top five Premier League goal scorers get their own little write up and a link to video of
their goals.
