Gordon Strachan has not lost his fan club in the English press if Kevin Mitchell's column in
today's Guardian is anything to go by.His quick wit and popular side career as a pundit have given
birth to a "Cult of Wee Gordon" amongst sections of the English media. His perceived differences to
another famous Scottish manager have helped in this.

OMG I am part of the 60,943,912 block of humanity that owns 43.5% of Glasgow Rangers and nobody
told me.
Disinvest me.
I don't wish to own any part of a stock that I would rather make a strategic short selling position
upon.
This is a distressed stock.
All the playing staff are on the transfer list and it is rumoured that failed property developer,
Sir Murray, was ousted from his eyrie by bankers.

Tony Mowbray was being as philosophical as ever yesterday when he spoke about being a "performance"
coach. Leave it to others to judge his team on "results."A jolly Corinthian approach for sure but
one that doesn't quite answer his growing band of critics. Results matter and nowhere is that more
keenly felt than in the east end of Glasgow.

The less than welcome international break gives us an early chance to take stock. We're seven games
in now and what have learned?CelticAtop the pile and Tony Mowbray seems confident that they'll be
up there at the end of the season. That's the positive. The negatives are he doesn't yet have the
players to play the kind of game he wants, he has not got any faith in the defenders Gordon

One has seen it all and bought, if not the T-shirt, then at least the freshly tailored shirt. The
other is just starting out in one of football's most peculiar jobs. But they have more in common
than you might think. It's one of the many odd quirks of being an Old Firm manager that one of the
few people ever likely to understand the huge pressure you are under is the person you're expected

[It] merely confirms the the long held conviction that, in sport as in many other professions, the
largest conceits are driven by the smallest talents. So said Glenn Gibbons in yesterday's Scotsman.
On this occasion Glenn was talking about Kris Boyd. But how appropriate his sentiment is for one of
Boyd's Old Firm colleagues.

"I think that, all things considered, that second half was the worst Celtic performance I've ever
seen. I'd say that match was a clear cut case of selling the jerseys" - Gerry Coogan

Well, yet again we have to remind you that we warned of the consequences of allowing not-so-super
agent John Colquhoun to oversee the selection process for the new Glasgow Celtic manager.

Big Story
Oh, the irony. Just days after Eduardo's blatant dive for
Arsenal against Celtic went unnoticed by the referee, Celtic's
Aiden McGeady received a second yellow of his own for diving as his team beat Hibernian 1-0.

"Is it a dive? Never in a million years. A dive is when you try to influence the referee, you throw
your arms up and so on."The quote above is what Tony Mowbray said following Aidan McGeady's yellow
card for diving yesterday. I have a degree of sympathy with McGeady, we have seen in the past few
days just how randomly the media can react to extremely similar incidents.

Celtic midfielder Aiden McGeady was sent off for DIVING as the Hoops claimed a 1-0 win at Hibernian
to go level on points with SPL leaders Rangers. Just days ago, Arsenal frontman Eduardo was accused
of diving after winning a dubious penalty in the Champions League play-off clash against Celtic at
Emirates Stadium.

Today is the return leg against Celtic. The bottom line in this game is that we've already got
one foot in the group stages, and simply need to do a professional job today to finish them
off.
It is tempting, with the United game coming up this weekend, to think that this is a good chance
for squad rotation.

Battle of Britain Part Deux tonight then. 2 away goals look a lot. Celtic need an early goal.
Chasing an early goal will expose the defence. It's a Catch 22 for Mr Mowbray.Anyway if you want a

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger was delighted to see his squad secure a 0-2 win against Celtic,

It was a fierce fight where Celtic have given absolutely everything.

I was one of the non believers who wrote off Celtic's chances of even reaching this stage. They
proved me wrong in Moscow. They won't prove me wrong in London. A 2-0 win at Celtic Park has sent
Arsenal into the group stages of the Champion's League.I thought there was a chance Celtic might do
better in the first leg.

It was not pretty but a deflected William Gallas opener and second-half own goal from Gary
Caldwell put Arsenal firmly in the driving seat in this UEFA Champions League play-off tie as the
visitors earned a 2-0 victory against Celtic.
The home team had more than matched Arsène Wenger's side for the best part of 45 minutes in
Glasgow before Gallas deflected Cesc FÃ bregas's free-kick into the net just before the
interval.

Arsenal beat Celtic 2-0 at Celtic Park, all but assuring their qualification for the Champions
League group stages, with two away goals. It was not the presiding effort of their 6-1 away win
at Everton, but the two deflected goals – from Gallas and Gary Caldwell's foot – fulfilled the
requirement in what was arguably the most important match of the season.

This morning, Tony Mowbray looked out of his window, saw the clouds and the threat of rain, and
though "a bit of rain will help our game tonight". He made his breakfast, ate it, enjoyed it, and
began the journey to the Lennoxtown training centre in a buoyant, if not overly-confident mood.
But, somewhere along the way, he must have ran over a black cat.

Football can be a cruel sport sometimes and it was certainly cruel tonight under the floodlights
on a warm evening in Glasgow. Two strokes of luck have almost ensured Arsenals progress to the
group stages of the Champions League as they overcame a stubborn Celtic side 2-0.
Celtic had started brightly enough; playing a 4-5-1 they restricted Arsene Wenger's fluid
passing and movement and, while not creating much in the way of chances themselves, they contained
Arsenal as best they could.
