This is the second part of my analysis of BBC Radio 5 Live's coverage of the interview with PGMO
chief Mike Riley. The BBC's Mark Chapman also talked to Tony Hibbert who is a match delegate and
an ex-Wolves player, the delegates are affiliated to the LMA and PFA. Tony Hibbert felt we have
the 'best officials in the world' and that all our referees were 'there on merit'.
Let's get right to it:

• Everton welcomes Norwich City to it's Really Goodison
The Premiership world was shocked when Everton announced that American Landon Donovan will come
on loan to the Land of Toffee starting January 4th.
Okay, not shocked actually at all except for the fact that Everton actually got a quality player
to help them in a battle with Father Relegation, even if only for two months.
The news just broke.
Liverpool here I come!
Landon Donovan going on loan to Everton this winter. Precisely what the Toffees need and frankly
probably all they could afford. Everton are not awash in cash. There certainly not awash in
goals.
The LA Galaxy announced on Thursday that Donovan will venture over to Everton on a two-month
loan kicking off on on Jan.

Chelsea 3-1 Everton Premier League 15 October 2011
Spanish summer signing Juan Mata was the star of the show for Chelsea on Saturday, with the
diminutive attacker inspiring the Blues to a valuable victory over Everton at Stamford Bridge.
Little introduction needed for tomorrow's match, which marks the 216th Merseyside Derby. Last
season's encounter at Goodison was farcical from a Liverpool perspective, with the hosts dominating
the match and deservedly earning a 2-0 victory that sent the Reds into the bottom three. Thankfully
fortunes have changed, but what's sure to be the same is the fiery temperament that's come to be
associated with the match-up, especially in recent years.
It's the first Premiership game after an international break and the transfer deadline day
changes. Since we last played, Luke Young and Jean II Makoun headed for pastures new, but were
replaced by Alan Hutton and Jermaine Jenas.
Here's how the two managers are going to look for the points today:
Hutton replaces Chris Herd in the only change to the starting line-up against Wolves, but Jenas
doesn't make the 18.

Transfers? Never heard of 'em. Not round here my friend. Jonah Loeb guides us through summer
at Goodison.
Goodison Park, the grand old ground of Everton FC, lies deserted. Crows gather
on the rafters to discuss the transfer market in caws and croaks; a miserable half-eaten pie lies
under a seat in the Gwladys End feeding the Evertonian flies.
The Premier League has not exactly been a golden age for either Liverpool or Everton.
While the Anfield outfit has twice finished runners-up since the rebranding of the top flight in
1992, the best their Goodison neighbours have managed during the last 19 years is fourth place.
It's a far cry from the 1980s when Merseyside ruled the roost.
