The Galaxy this afternoon announced a June 9 friendly at Home Depot Center against Cosa Rican
team Club Sport Herediano, which includes former MLS players and Costa Rican internationals Andy
Herron and Mauricio Solis on its roster.
That makes the third friendly against international opponents in Southern California this season
- after scheduling just two (from Asia) - in the last two years.

Hans Stierle, a former Torrance resident regarded as the driving force behind the creation of
the American Youth Soccer Association and the now national organization's first president, was
honored before Saturday's Galaxy game. Stierle, who now lives in the Pacific Northwest, was
presented with a Galaxy jersey by Tom Payne, president of business operations for the team.

renowned club like FC Kaiserslautern at an amazing World Cup venue in front of their loyal and
passionate fans," LA Galaxy President of Business Operations Tom Payne said.
From the Galaxy press release:
"As part of the tour, the Galaxy were scheduled to face FC Kaiserslautern on Thursday,
November 26, and a second opponent on Tuesday, December 1 in Germany .
"We are very disappointed to announce the cancellation of our 2009 Postseason Tour due to a lack
of communication and performance by the tour's organizer and promoter IMC Group, Inc," said
President of Business Operations Tom Payne.

Referee Tim Weyland was once again the center of attention at an MLS game with a non-call just
before half time against the Galaxy's Demo Kovalenko, who seemed to bring down Nate Jaqua in the
six yard box.
Weyland was roundly booed off the field at the break, with the Galaxy perhaps fortunate to
escape the PK call.
