The New York Giants' Super Bowl victory can serve as a tremendous reference point for what a team
has to be focused on to win a championship.
The Bleacher Report created a list of what teams (and specifically, the New York Knicks) can learn
from the New York Giants:

Contrary to what everyone expected, Super Bowl
XLVI was a low-scoring game.
The last time the New York Giants faced the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl, the Giants
win was one of the biggest upsets of all-time. In the rematch, the Patriots were again favored and
the Giants again ended up becoming Super Bowl champions.
In a game of run, the Giants scored the game's first nine points.
Wes Welker was arguably the best wide receiver in the NFL this season. The New England Patriots
star with cat-quick reflexes was a big reason why his team made it to the Super Bowl. However, in
the biggest moment of his life, Wes Welker dropped a pass a became a Super Bowl goat.
Check out the Wes Welker dropped pass video below to see the play for yourself.
Eli Manning's star has never shined brighter as he leads his New York Giants into their 2nd Super
Bowl in the past 4 years.
As accomplished and appreciated as Manning is now, he was not always held in that regard. Playing
professional sports in the largest fishbowl of a media market like New York is not easy, as there
are very high expectations to manage and distractions to avoid.

There has always been a conflict between keeping athletes safe in college and professional
sports and preserving the excitement of the game.
In 1905, President Theodore Roosevelt felt it was necessary to step in and reform the way
college football was played.
Outside of Tom Brady, Rob Gronkowski has been the best player this year on the New England
Patriots. Unfortunately for the Patriots, Gronkowski is unlikely to be 100% during the Super Bowl
due to a high ankle sprain. In fact, it's uncertain at this point whether he'll even play.
Over the weekend, Gronkowski was seen wearing a walking boot.
After the Super Bowl winner is decided, Wes Welker will become a free agent. However, the star
wide receiver for the New England Patriots insists he's not thinking about money right now.
Said Welker: "I plan on being back. I am not really too worried about that right now. I am fully
concentrated on this game and what we have to do, but I plan on being back.
The New England Patriots are headed to the Super Bowl. Before making the trip to Indianapolis,
the Patriots said goodbye to their faithful fans at a pep rally held in Gillette Stadium. About
25,000 fans showed up to cheer on their heroes.
Said Tom Brady: "We have the greatest fans in America.
As the NFL playoffs continue on this weekend, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will take
center stage.
Brady has become an icon in professional sports, and is associated with leading a Patriots' dynasty
as well as ranking among the all-time greats.
As precise a passer as Brady is, people who know him best always remark about his tremendous level
of commitment, focus, determination and toughness.
There have been few Super Bowls to be hotly contested for a second time. The last one is the Dallas
Cowboys vs. Buffalo Bills in 1994, won by Dallas 30-13. The Bills were seeking revenge, but didn't
get it, as the Cowboys rolled over them in another lopsided big win.
Fans of the New England Patriots can't be feeling too happy right now. Tom Brady, the Patriots
franchise quarterback, has a shoulder injury that was serious enough to warrant a shoulder X-ray.
Brady also sat out practice on Thursday.
The good news for the Patriots and their quarterback is that Brady's injury isn't considered
serious.

All the pundits, professional and armchair men alike seem to be in agreement.
As we head into Week 9 of the 2011 NFL season, let's take a look at the latest power rankings.
These are the ten best football teams on the planet. While there is a lot of parity this year,
there are definitely a handful of teams that make up the cream of the crop.
1. Green Bay Packers (7-0)
There's no doubt which team deserves to be ranked No.
Tom Brady has made a career out of owning the Pittsburgh Steelers. On Sunday, the Steelers
finally got some revenge. While holding Brady in check and getting a great performance out of Ben
Roethlisberger, the Steelers won by a final score of 25-17.
Roethlisberger finished 36-for-50 for 365 passing yards and two touchdowns.
This season, there seems to be a lot more wide receiver sleepers than usual. In the 2011 fantasy
football season, there are sure to be three or four WRs that come out of nowhere and shine. Here's
our look at the 2011 wide receiver sleepers.
Chad Ochocinco, New England Patriots
Yes, Chad Ochocinco is annoying.
The New England Patriots have looked fantastic at times during preseason play. But a bad first
half against the Detroit Lions got much worse after star wide receiver Wes Welker injured his neck
making a tackle following a Tom Brady interception.
Although Welker was able to leave the field under his own power, he was soon treated by trainers
and didn't return to the game.
Logan Mankins and the New England Patriots have been haggling over a long-term contract for
years. On Wednesday, the two sides reportedly came to an agreement. There aren't any dollar figure
amounts yet but the deal is said to be for six season. Logan Mankins was set to make a little bit
more than $10 million this season.
The New England Patriots aren't being bashful. Earlier today, the Patriots traded for Albert
Haynesworth. Now, in breaking news, the Patriots have acquired Chad Ochocinco in a trade with the
Cincinnati Bengals. The trade became official after Chad Ochocinco agreed to rework his contract
number.
According to reports, the Bengals will receive a pair of draft picks in return for their most
most talked about player.

On Wednesday night at Gillette Stadium, the New England Revolution put together an organized and
disciplined first half against a far superior opponent.
Sunday was much, much different.
Short passes? Yes, please.
From the opening whistle, the Union imposed a style and pace on the game that New England could
not match.
When you think of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, you likely think of Tom Brady and Peyton
Manning. Or maybe Michael Vick, Philip Rivers or Peyton's little brother. It's time to wake up. The
best quarterback in the NFL is kissing a Super Bowl championship trophy tonight. His name is Super
Bowl MVP Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers.
Don't call it an excuse for the early exit by the New England Patriots but Tom Brady underwent
foot surgery on Thursday. The procedure, which inserted a screw into his foot in hopes of
preventing a stress fracture, will reportedly have the Patriots superstar quarterback in a walking
boot for about a month and a half.
All week long, the New York Jets said they were going to beat the New England Patriots on
Sunday. And guess what? the Jets did just that. No one thought the Jets actually had a chance but
they went into New England and handed the Patriots a 28-21 defeat. To make it to the Super Bowl,
the Jets now have to go out on the road and beat the Pittsburgh Steelers.
This weekend, there will be a total of eight NFL teams in action. This year's divisonal playoffs
promise to be fantastic. On Saturday, the Ravens play the Steelers and the Packers play the
Falcons. On Sunday, the Seahawks travel to play the Bears and then the Jets try to slay the favored
Patriots.
