1. Ain't No Mountain High Enough
This article marks something of an epoch for The H List, being published as it is from the
southern hemisphere.
In a frankly ridiculous bid for increased market share, Headhammer Shark and I have taken the
bewilderingly radical approach of posting one author to Australia and it was I who took one for the
team, typing as I am in shorts, t-shirt and 30-degree heat.

If there is one thing about supporting an "Other-16" club in the English Premier League that really
makes life painful, it's when your club develops a truly great young player and the "Big 4"
vultures start circling trying to take him away. In the case of Everton it's a familiar feeling and
one in which all the financial windfalls don't ease the frustration.

Chelsea have made their first significant move since their transfer embargo was
suspended by making a preliminary £14m offer for the Everton teenager Jack Rodwell, which has been
rejected by the Merseyside club.

Outlets across the board reported Saturday that Chelsea have launched a preliminary bid for
Everton kiddie Jack Rodwell. The number I'm seeing and I'm rolling with the Independent on this is
£14 million.
Wow. Of course, it was rejected by David Moyes & Co. who value Rodwell at £20m. Hmm, a hefty
sum that.

Manchester United are in hot pursuit of Benfica's 21 year old Argentina midfielder, Angel di

di Maria has recently pit his wits against some of the Premier League's best as Benfica tackled
Everton in the Europa League.

Everton will be looking to reverse their downward spiral on Saturday when they host Aston Villa
at Goodison Park. For me, this is that match of the week as we will watch two normally exciting
clubs battle to move up the table. Aston Villa will be looking to keep up with the title chase,
while Everton will be looking to move back to the part of the table they are a lot more accustomed
to.

Jozy, less tweeting, more football.
It was a weekend with mixed results for the Americans who apply their trade in the Premier
League. All U.S. players who saw action or are on current rosters were only able to manage a point
with their respected sides.
Fulham striker Clint Dempsey came out on top of the U.

Everton boss David Moyes has praised his Everton side ahead of their tricky away trip to
Portugal to square off against Benfica in the Europa League. Everton are missing ten players for
the trip, but Moyes is confident the Toffees have the quality to cope.
Everton knew that they would be without the injured Steven Pienaar, Phil Neville, Phil Jagielka,
Mikel Arteta, James Vaughan, and Victor Anichebe.

David Moyes had his work cut out for him last season as number of key players were out with
injuries but he, nevertheless, led Everton to the fifth place in the
Premier League thanks to the great finish of the season. However, this season hasn't had
the best of starts for the Toffees even though the boss now has much bigger squad to choose from
and it seems that top half finish is the best they can do this term.

The international break is over, so it's time to get back to work for the guys in the EPL.

Now that the internationals are finished, attention is turning back to the Premier League at
last. The international break brought loads of transfer rumors, plenty of boring and pointless
matches, and a much needed break for fantasy football players around the world.
As action resumes and the Premiership Talk Fantasy Football league heats back up, here's a
rundown of the top ten fantasy players this season, based on total points.

Yes, that's right I said it. I honestly don't believe that Joleon Lescott is actually very good
at all. The fact that Manchester City fought so long and hard for the Everton man must have had any

It was a cool and rainy weekend where I live, which set the tone nicely for watching a lot of
Premier League football. Not that I need an excuse to watch matches, but when there is no reason to
go outside, it just makes it that much easier to bunker down and ignore the world.
When the final whistle blew at Goodison, my first reaction to Everton's 1-1 draw with Stoke was
frustration.

If it's lonely at the top, you wouldn't guess it by watching Chelsea run rampant through the
Premier League in the early stages of the 2009-2010 campaign.
With a perfect 18 points in six matches and a +12 goal difference to boot, the Blues aren't
letting their recent transfer ban get in the way of a rapid start.

This time its an Everton centre back who is target of vicious raid!
Everton defender Phil Jagielka was held at knifepoint and forced to hand over jewellery
in a raid on his Cheshire home. It is suspected the daft robbers struck at 8pm last night because
they thought the player would be on Carling Cup duty against Hull, but they were not up-to-date
with their team news.

Everton have started off quite slow in the Premier League, but apparently the Europa League is a
whole different ballgame. Steven Pienaar and the rest of the squad kicked off their Europa League
campaign with an opening match against AEK. One would think that Everton might get off to a slow
start given the immense pressure of being in such a prestigious tournament, but I guess they missed
that memo.
