Racing Santander 0-0 Atletico Madrid
Racing moves out of the relegation zone Atletico Madrid are up to 6th place. It was a physical
match with four yellow cards given to each side.
Manchester City have officially went out from another competition, this time it's the Carling
Cup after Roberto Mancini's side only managed to get a 2-2 draw against Liverpool in the
competition's second leg, while getting beaten 1-0 in the first meeting.
Mancini himself was very disappointed at that failure but once again he put the blame on
refereeing decision instead of his team's own performance, which the manager though already
pleasing enough.

Morning all, and it's into the Interlull we go.
One of the worst things about our form at the moment is that it makes Interlulls seem almost
welcome. It's a chance for some re-grouping, for players to go off and clear their heads a bit, and
for the manager and his staff to reassess where we are.

Can Chelsea Topple Manchester United? - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
Even though Chelsea failed to put pressure on Manchester United towards the end of last season
for the title. Chances are that they will this season. They're the only team that are thought to be
able to pose a challenge to Alex Ferguson's men.
Disappointing results that Arsenal acquired in the latest Emirates Cup raises the doubts on
their title chances in the new season as one of their important players, Jack Wilshere, admitted
that the Gunners might need new players in order to win something this summer.
Wilshere understand that his club has never been associated with a spending spree attitude, but
the England international seems a bit worried about his team's chances in winning trophies with the
current squad.

In an attempt to generate some sort of regular feature on the blog (whatever happened to those
Alliterative XIs anyway? More of them soon I hope...), I've decided to start a seven of the best
feature. It will link to some of the best stuff I've read and seen online during the week.
So, starting out at in no particular order we have a wonderful piece from VivaRovers detailing
the fan managerial speak (1) that is vital to understand should you feel brave
enough to listen to the angry Alan Green or confused Spoony (both of which I believe have taken
the radio show as far as they can) on a Saturday evening.
Philadelphia Union striker Carlos Ruiz is apparently on Puebla FC's transfer radar, according to
Periodico Digital.
Puebla wants to bring in "reinforcements" to improve the Mexican Primera Division club's title
chances for the upcoming season. Finishing thirteenth in 2011, Puebla failed produce a winning side
once, and did not progress into the league playoffs, finishing third in their group.
After a week of nothing we've got a whole pile of something this morning. Arsene's pre-United
press conference took place yesterday but was only available for viewing late last night so I
haven't had time to watch it yet.
Obviously the agenda revolved around the end of season slump which has put paid to our title
chances for another year.
Dortmund need to postpone their lap of honor through the Bundesliga. Manuel Neuer may have made
the "next big step" in his career from one Europa League bound club to another. A wild winning
spree at the bottom of the table leaves Cologne and St. Pauli as this weekend's biggest losers.
Leverkusen 2-1 Hoffenheim.
Good Friday to you all. If you're a short, preachy man with a beard and a gang of eager
vagabonds, may I suggest that today you stay away from any Romans that might be in your
neighbourhood? You'll thank me later.
Regular readers will know that I try and err on the side of glass-half-fullism.
The dramatic nature of our draw on Sunday killed our title chances in the eyes of many, for two
reasons some felt United's lead was now too great to overcome, others felt our ability to
self-destruct would mean more dropped points before the end of the season. As I said after the
game, I was close to writing us off the only remaining hope was that United would drop points at
Newcastle, therefore giving us the boost we needed to pick ourselves off the floor and beat
Spurs.
Despite being without their two best strikers, Udinese were strong enough to put a huge dent in
Napoli's title chances.
Under-strength Udinese force Napoli to rewrite their Serie A script.
Pep Segura declared himself a happy man after seeing his reserve side record their first win under
his leadership after a 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers at the Academy on Tuesday afternoon.
Adam Morgan netted the only goal of the game and in doing so found the net for the 12th consecutive
game.
The victory keeps the reserves title chances alive but for Segura that is not his main priority.
Stoke City
Position: 10th, 10-3-13 (33 points, -2 goal differential)
Away Form: 3-1-9 (10 points, -7 goal differential)
Recent Form: WLLWL
Last Meeting: Stoke City 1 Arsenal 3 (February 27, 2010)
Arsenal back from internationals and back in league action tomorrow against Stoke City, in a
match that was originally scheduled for December but got snowed out.
Is it this?
Certainly up there. Assault on the ref has to be admired, Di Canio, take a bow. But is that
better than assault on a paramedic? Andre Bikey everyone:
I'd argue both pale into comparison with assault on a fan. Look how collected Cantona seems
before he launches himself into Matthew Simmonds.
This weekend saw another in the series of the not-so-subtly named Derby of the Eternal Enemies
between defending Greek Super League champions Panathinaikos and record champions Olympiakos. The
latter were the home side and were leading the table by seven points before Saturday's game kicked
off in Piraeus, the port town just outside of the Greek capital Athens.
Now even I am finding it hard to remain upbeat about our title chances. I have remained positive
and believe if we could win every game and get on a run which we all know we are capable of, then
we could find ourselves right back in the title race. Then we drew at Fulham and that all
changed.
Arsene Wenger spoke of Chelsea's chances and even I am finding it hard to agree!
