How Long Until We Forgive Thierry Henry?

WorldCupBlog 20 November @ 02:10 PM EST

Latest development in the already long running Thierry Henry handball incident (or "la main de dieu" as it's being called by some) is that Henry himself thinks a replay is a good idea:

"The fairest solution would be to replay the game but it is not in my control," said the Barcelona striker.

Iverson and Thierry Henry are awkward together

Dirty Tackle 21 September @ 07:00 PM EST

Theirry Henry and Allen Iverson, now sadly carrying on his basketball career with the Memphis Grizzlies, were brought together in Barcelona by their shared sponsor Reebok for...I don't know some kind of cross-promotional brand synergy thing (or maybe corporate hypnosis and introduction to cannibalism?

Transfer Talk: We Thought The Window Had Closed?

Barcelista 06 September @ 01:43 PM EST
- The summer transfer window was supposed to have closed a few days ago, yet the rumours persist, with an avalanche of new reports crashing down on us, all claiming the same thing: A Robinho-Henry swap is on the cards for Barca and Man City.
Apparently, Pep is still hankering for a winger after failed attempts to sign Riera or Mata, and Robinho would be a fitting choice; while Man City owners are really keen on having Henry join their team. Click to continue reading...

Injury Report: We're Back, But Titi's Not...

Barcelista 11 August @ 04:41 AM EST
Hola there, Blaugrana world! We've been away for a few days, but we're back and posting now! Andresito returns with us, but we're afraid injury has struck Thierry Henry...
Titi's having problems in the Achilles tendons of not one, but both his legs. Strangeness much? It happened during the Chivas match and medics still aren't sure when he'll return. Click to continue reading...

Ade to Milan, Xabi to Arsenal, Barry to Arsenal, and Cesc to Real/Barca. No, this is not a repeat of summer 2008

7am Kickoff 01 June @ 09:02 AM EST

It's going to be a scorcher here, 80 some degrees (Fahrenheit) and I think I might get the motorcycle out. That seems like a nice way to kick off the Transfer season.

A couple of things before we get into the "news." First off, you should look for me to migrate the site to my actual dot com site this summer.

FC Barcelona's Gerard Pique has told the press firmly that Lionel Messi won't be leaving Barca anytime soon. The blaugrana defender Pique stated: 'Lionel will not be gone anytime soon. Injury Report: Andresito For Rome?

Barcelista 12 May @ 09:18 AM EST
Barca's medics have given the report on Andres Iniesta's injury: a muscle tear two centimeters long in his right thigh. He's started a special recovery program, and the latest is that he might make the final in Rome, after all...
Anyway, Andresito seems pretty confident about it: I will be ok for Rome. Click to continue reading...

La Liga: FC Barcelona vs Villareal, Camo Nou, Sunday, May 10 2009, 19:00 CET

Barcelista 09 May @ 07:29 AM EST
Well, after last destroying Madrid in the Liga, we next face Villareal as the season is drawing to an end. With only four Liga matches left, we've got to clinch the next win or two to officially secure the title... a win over Villareal will be sufficent for us to be named champions, should Madrid lose to Valencia. Post-Match Buzz: Barcelona 1-0 Getafe

Barcelista 19 April @ 03:54 AM EST
First off, we would like to mourn the loss of Gerard Pique's splendiferous hair. He's now sporting that annoying buzz cut he had at the start of the season, which we were able to forget once those lovely locks grew out into perfection... and then he went and hacked them off again. He's tall, blue-eyed, and perfectly gorgeous, and yet he always seems to find some way to mar that brilliant appeal with hideous shirts, the most deplorable shoes, and even, on occasion, that abysmal thing called a man-bag. Post-Match Buzz: Barcelona 2-0 Recreativo

Barcelista 13 April @ 02:37 PM EST
Well, you can't always thrash em.
Barca came away from the match against Recreativo with the comfortable score of 2-0. Not flashy, but still comfortable. Given the fact that it was just three days after the last game, we can factor in the element of fatigue. And given that the next game is just three days after, we can factor in the necessity to bench some of the starters. Click to continue reading...

Titi Gets a Hat Trick (Video)

France World Cup Team Blog 08 December @ 01:53 PM EST

I'm a couple of days late with this, but it's worth the wait.

Thierry Henry is having a good year this year, as evidenced by this hat trick against Valencia over the weekend. Yes, a hat trick. At 31. (All of them are good, but the first one in particular is vintage Henry.
