US-Spain Thoughts

Could this be the biggest win ever for the US? (Getty Images)

Boy what a thriller huh? If you called a 2-0 win over Spain for the US you should probably be well on your way to an island somewhere celebrating your winnings. No one honestly called that kind of a win for the US today. Sure some had hopes of that kind of result but truth be told you'd be kidding yourself if you thought it would actually happen.

Persitara v PSMS 0-3

Jakarta Casual 26 May @ 08:46 AM EST
A real relegation six pointer this one and what a thriller they produced. It's as if defence is a dirty word in Indonesian football as the visitors from Medan set about their mission with a flair and a purpose that would have done any title challenger proud.
With Zada, Elie Aiboy and Oktavianus on fire PSMS were rampant and had it not been for a linesman's eagerness to wave his little flag on a little stick they would have been out of sight at half time. Click to continue reading...

Blip Is A Blessing

Republik Of Mancunia 22 April @ 08:19 AM EST

A couple of months ago we were cruising to our eighteenth league title. A win against Liverpool would have seen us go ten points clear with a game in hand. It seemed too good to be true... and it was.

This morning's thriller between Liverpool and Chelsea was the sort of game that occurs only once every European season, if that. A high-profile knockout game which captivates the fans and infuriates the coaches in about equal measure.
These two sides have produced some grim encounters over the last few years, but this one bore no resemblance to the unbearably tight aerial slugfests of the recent past. Click to continue reading...
