It has, as many of you will already be aware, been a long few months for the supporters of
Kettering Town Football Club. During this period, their club has been uprooted to the former home
of their defunct former local rivals, they have been promised the earth and have seen only the
delivery of unpaid bills and an uphill battle to avoid relegation from the Blue Square Bet
Premier.
Matches in the Third Round of The FA Cup frequently draw attendances that are lower than they
would be otherwise. The simple fact that tickets are not usually provided as part of annual season
tickets combined with the possibility of people feeling the pinch in the weeks after Christmas is
usually enough to keep many away.
szólj hozzá: Fulham vs Arsenal 2:1 MOTD
Depressing. Very depressing. As bright and incandescent as Arsenal were the first half, the
second half was an absolute blight. The Gunners looked drained, bereft of ideas, and they let
Fulham walk all over them. It was an reversion to many a game last season where Arsenal showed
distinctly no ambition other than to run out 90 minutes.
We ended up giving a good account of ourselves against Man City but not winning, which was
pardonable enough, but embracing the tag of honourable losers is not an act any team should partake
in with any relish or frequency. Getting a positive result was the most important thing against
Villa, and it gave me perverse pleasure when we managed to do it in spite of being quite poor
overall.
It was only a tiny step forward, but those that have been campaigning for the return of terraces
in the form of safe standing had a rare reason to be cheerful yesterday with an announcement from
north of the border, that the Scottish Premier League is to trial a pilot that may see the return
of standing at matches in the near future.
Alex McLeish was in awe of Luis Suarez after the Liverpool striker tormented his Aston Villa side
at Villa Park on Sunday.
The Reds ran out 2-0 winners against the Villains thanks to early strikes from Craig Bellamy and
Martin Skrtel, and climbed to sixth in the Barclays Premier League.
It was Suarez, though, who stole the show for Liverpool, with the Uruguayan proving a thorn in the
side of the Villa defence for the majority of the afternoon.
What a difference a new Steve makes, eh? Blackpool have proven a considerable thorn in the side of
our recent history, so a win at their place shouldn't be downplayed. Even the announcer during the
half time 'zorb' competition between a Tangerine and a Reds fan announced smugly "And Blackpool
beat Forest.
Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish believes Luis Suarez is not getting adequate protection from
referees.
Suarez felt aggrieved that decisions were not awarded in his favour during the Reds' 1-1 draw with
Norwich - and Dalglish thinks the Uruguayan deserves more respect from referees.
"He needs protection and I don't think he got that out there," said Dalglish.
Crane style Robin
This was our second win in 6 Premier League games. It pushes us up to 12th place in the league
standing with 32 more games to go. The win was made even sweeter by the fact that we managed to
claw back 2 points from leaders Manchester United, who drew away at Stoke yesterday.

The Union may not have won last Saturday, but the Union family did. Before the game against
Portland, Philadelphia Union supporters gathered for a charity tailgate in support of Miles4MJ.

Landon Donovan and Mexico go hand-in-hand like meat and rabid dogs. It seems that every time
Donovan plays against Mexico, be it the national team or a Mexican club, Donovan seems to bring out
some emotions from Mexican supporters.
He certainly has drawn some emotions out from the locals here in Morelia.
Keon Daniel's 20th minute goal helped Trinidad and Tobago beat Barbados in the second round of
2014 World Cup qualifying. Daniel made his first start for the country in qualifying, after
impressing in 54 minutes of Trinidad's 1-0 win over Bermuda last week.
Playing all 90 minutes, Daniel was a thorn in Barbados' side all game, pumping threatening
corners into the box and on multiple occasions nearly combining with star striker Kenwyne Jones
around the 18.
With over £110m spent over the summer and more to come, Liverpool impressively outplayed Bolton at
Anfield over the weekend. As a true measure of Liverpool's stylish performance, Kevin Davies was
substituted in that match. Liverpool completely subdued the Trotters' captain and talisman!
An 84th-minute goal from Hans Henrik Andreasen gave Odense an unlikely 1-0 win over Villarreal.
The Danish side withstood heavy second-half pressure from Villarreal but held out for a memorable
victory.
Odense started to game really well and created the best chances early on. First, Andreasen
nodded just wide before more pressure nearly resulted in an own goal.
The war between Pro- and Anti-Wenger supporters seems to be getting more angry every day,
especially as the Fabregas and Nasri sagas seem to be a never-ending thorn in our sides. There are
daily slanging matches on nearly every single Arsenal Blog on the web, and Ian Wright seems to
think that if Arsene Wenger [.
Manchester United's Sir Alex Ferguson wary of Liverpool threat

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson believes Liverpool will be a force to be reckoned with

their 19th, one more than the 18 the Reds have.

Pacheco's Coventry Move Falls Through
Dani Pacheco's proposed loan move to Coventry has fallen through, the Sky Blues have revealed.
Liverpool would like the player to remain closer to home so they can monitor his progress
throughout the season. Pacheco enjoyed a successful loan spell with Norwich last season, and looked
set to return to the Championship for the forthcoming campaign.
Coventry City boss Andy Thorn has switched his attention elsewhere after missing out on rising
Liverpool star Dani Pacheco.
The Sky Blues manager had the Spain Under-20 striker lined up to join the club on loan but the deal
has fallen through because the Reds rate him so highly that they want to keep him closer to home.
Genoveva Anonma is a special player and she showed pace and skill in spades but her finishing
let her down. Still she was a thorn in the Norwegian side and the Guineans put on 20 shots with
eight on goal keeping Ingrid Hjelmseth very busy. The Norwegians came closest with 19 year old
Emilie Haavi's shot hitting the upright.
After two crazy matches in the Pacific Northwest, the New York Red Bulls flew back across the
country, and made a stop in Illinois to play Chicago Fire -- a team that has been drawing a lot and
is usually a tough side to beat at home although their stadium just hasn't been the fortress it
used to be.

It's now less than two weeks until the 2011 Women's World Cup starts in Germany, and over the
next couple of weeks we are taking the time to bring you a quick run-down of the teams that are

Group B, and Group C.
Wembley was a happy hunting ground for Man Utd in their first Champions League victory in 1968
when they beat Benfica, 4-1. Bobby Charlton with a brace, George Best, and Brian Kidd scored for
Utd while Graca pegged one back for the Portugese giants.
Best was a thorn dazzling with his footwork and Charlton was a sublime finisher.

1. Congratulations lads. The title is not won yet but congratulations for putting us in a
position where we need just one point to make it 19. Well done you bloody lovely things, you. You
bloody brilliant boys. Well done.
2. As far as starts to football games go, it couldn't get an awful lot better than that.
Coventry will welcome starlet Conor Thomas back to the club from Liverpool - but the uncertainty
over his long-term future remains.
The promising midfielder made a sensational and controversial loan move to Liverpool in January as
cash-strapped City sought a reported quick fee with the possibility of a larger sum should the move
be made permanent in the summer.
In a weekend where Bari were officially relegated, Milan took a massive step towards the title,
and Sampdoria , the race for fourth truly stood out as one area of Serie A which is somehow,
improbably, still open.
Three talking points about the matchday, which did much to shape the table in some areas and
completely opened it in others:
1.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger believes that Liverpool have done good business in signing strike duo
Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll as a replacement for Fernando Torres.
While much has been made of the combined £50 million outlay spent in January by new owners NESV on
the former Ajax and Newcastle United men, the Gunners boss believes that they will in time prove
valuable assets for the Reds.
Transfer Rumors Continue to Swirl Around Anfield
by Thomas Atzenhoffer on The Bleacher Report
April 6, 2011
Michael Regan/Getty ImagesWith two of their biggest signings in years, Liverpool made a splash in
the January transfer market. However, given that they are still languishing outside the top five
and will be completely out of contention for European competition if Tottenham hold their margin,
it has not been enough.
Make no mistake this game today is as big as United at home. Chelsea were up against it against
United at half time and pulled together to get the right result. Chelsea are up against a side that
has proved to be a pain in the arse for one reason or another and will come to Chelsea with a
totally different attitude to the one that battered us at the Bridge last season.
Raheem Sterling grabbed a brace and Conor Coady hit a thunderbolt as Liverpool U18s made it six
straight wins with a 4-1 triumph against Stoke City on Saturday afternoon.
The Reds' skipper fired home an unstoppable volley to open the scoring on 28 minutes before the
winger everyone is talking about tapped home the second after a superb run and cross from Brad
Smith.
Adam Morgan struck a late winner as Liverpool U18s warmed up for the FA Youth Cup with an
impressive 2-1 victory over Manchester City on Saturday afternoon.
The striker showed great composure to drill a low shot into the bottom corner on 82 minutes after
Raheem Sterling's first-half opener had been cancelled out by Alex Henshaw's stunning volley.
By Ainsley Jacobs, writing from England
Revenge would have been on the minds of the Liverpool players as they headed down on the coach
to Molineux this morning. Just 26 days ago, Stephen Ward scored the only goal in the reverse
fixture at Anfield and in doing so hammered another nail into Roy Hodgson's coffin.
There's nothing to get the pulse slumping like Wigan away, and the first half was suitably
dire. Chris Baird, revelling in his 'long range specialist' role, had our first two shots,
the first a daisy cutter that Ali Al Habsi saved easily, the second flying into the crowd.
Wigan bounced back with a relatively exhilerating break down the right flank, Stam's crossed at
full-speed, Rodellega got on the end of it but hit the post with a good header.
10 points in 11 games, the best response to me seemed to go into hiding, pray and return when
the sunshine breaks through the looming clouds. However, Let the records show that my official
excuse for my absence has been insane travelling around the country. It's true, I have tickets to
prove it.
