Leeds agree deal with 25-yr-old defender, star could be key in their fight for promotion

Championship outfit Leeds United have agreed on a new deal with key defender Liam Cooper.

The agreement has been confirmed on the club’s official website. The centre back has signed a new four-year contract that will keep him at Elland Road until the end of the 2020/21 season.

The 25-year-old has been a valuable member of Leeds’ starting lineup over the last two seasons.

Leeds United have renewed their interest in the Huesca forward Samu Saiz and are looking to sign the 26-year-old this summer.

According to Spanish outlet AS, the Championship outfit have already submitted an offer of £3.1m to sign the player.

Saiz had an impressive season in La Liga 2 last year and he ended up scoring 12 goals for Huesca.

London (AFP) – Former Spanish international Thomas Christiansen is the new manager of fallen English football giants Leeds United, the second-tier club announced on Thursday.

The 44-year-old - born in Denmark but who qualified to play for Spain through his Spanish mother - replaces Garry Monk, who shocked the club by rejecting a new contract last month.
