Carlo Ancelotti joined PSG in December after being sacked by Chelsea. The Italian won the double
in his first season but failed to inspire The Blues as they finished without a trophy the following
season.
The 52-year-old admitted he was hoping to replace Arsene Wenger in north London.
The internationals have been put to bed and it is now back to the Premier League and Sunderland at
the Emirates on Sunday afternoon. Here is all the latest news on the injury situation and who is
and who isn't available, and for once things are looking up in the treatment room. Abou Diaby is

A player that has been continually linked with a move to the Emirates this coming January is Marvin
Martin of French Ligue 1 side Sochaux, but the player himself has ruled out such a move. Martin
signed a new contract at Sochaux last month, but that has not stopped the rumours circulating that

Wojciech Szczesny
If it weren't for the young Polish keeper, Arsenal would be bottom of the league. Szczesny has been
pulling off world class saves in each and every Gunners match this season.
A- – How long before his head is turned?
Bacary Sagna
Sagna has been Arsenal's best defender this season, which isn't really saying much.
As a Liverpool fan, you could be forgiven for not being surprised that I'm glad to see Arsenal
lose their 'star' players. But honestly, it's not what you think. My concern is more for the
behaviour of footballers... and the lack of respect with which Arsenal Football Club has been
treated by many of it's players.

It's not been a great few weeks for Arsenal FC, that's putting it mildly too, as if the loss of
Cesc Fabregas and the imminent departure of Sami Nasri wasn't bad enough, Arsenal have also failed
to score a goal in their first two Premier League games and have the difficult task of qualifying
for the Champions League tonight.
Another rumor, another target? Could this transfer ignite Arsenal's season if it happens?
BBC Sport have reported that The Gunners are on the verge of bidding 26m for the 20-year old
Belgium wonder kid.
Hazard, a distant cousin of Thomas Vermaelen was named Ligue 1 player of the season, after
Lille's league and cup double.
Arsene Wenger is expected to make some big-name signings at long last with days remaining before
the transfer window closes.
It emerged that Kaka, Gary Cahill, Leighton Baines, Yann M'Vila & Lille forward Eden Hazard are
all possible targets*.
But here lies the problems, Arsenal fans, including myself are fed up with that word.
Deja vu could well be the most commonly used phrase by Arsenal fans during the summer break
(among other slightly more inappropriate ones). It was supposed to be the summer that Arsene Wenger
finally opened his famously closed eyes, the summer that he addressed the weaknesses within the
Arsenal squad, that appear to be obvious to all but the Frenchman.
Its clear that Arsene Wenger needs someone new at Arsenal as months of ongoing transfer gossip
involving the sales of Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas finally look to be coming to a close.
Team spirit is Wenger's number one priority, he constantly repeats it in his interviews, and I
would strongly concur with him.
Arsene Wenger has had 41 days of the transfer window to bolster Arsenal's squad, yet just three
days until the start of the Premier League and six until their Champions League qualifier against
Udinese, he has failed to address any of the important issues facing his team.
With Arsenal's monumental implosion at the business end of last season, much was made of their
need to purchase experienced players with the mental grit to set an example to the horde of
talented youngsters in the squad.
World player of the year Lionel Messi's goal against Manchester United in the Champions League
final was his 12th in 13 games in that particular competition, and his 53rd in all. In any other
era this would have been a stand-out achievement, but in 2011 it meant merely achieving parity with
Cristiano Ronaldo.
It's become almost as boring as a Steve McClaren interview, will Cesc Fabregas stay, or will he
go? Or do we care any more?
Like previous Arsenal captains before him, summer time is all about when, and where North
London's prized asset will end up.
I have a new theory and a great way to get rid of our worst players, make them captain!
As a lifelong football fan who has watched the sport at almost every level of the game for the
last 40+ years, I have developed some dyed in the wool attitudes about many things, not least of
which is my utter contempt for the vast majority of the people who run our sport, from the owners
and directors of the clubs to the crooks and clowns who administrate our game.
Another season of high hopes and eventual frustration for Arsenal has ended. Another season of,
at times enterprising football, but ultimately poor defending and poor decisions has ended with the
Gunners going six seasons without a trophy.
The chance of finishing the season without a trophy looked very unlikely as Arsenal went into
the Carling Cup Final as massive favourites against Premier League Minnows (and ultimately
relegation fodder) Birmingham City.
Keep the faith Gooners..
It's been a long time since I blogged. Lots of travel (both personal and work-related), plus a
change in job (which included a hell lot of transition) and most of all, Arsenal's poor form, kept
me away from 11G, something I feel very apologetic about. I sometimes doubted my allegiance towards
the lads, as the trend suggested I kept away at a time the team wasn't doing well.

Arsenal's flame may have petered out somewhat in recent years, but Wenger's boys-turned-men came
awfully close this year to winning their first league title since 2004. They may not possess the
same tenacity as Manchester United but they are as good as anyone in the league on their day, as we
seen last Saturday with the victory over United that could help Chelsea retain their title.

Hi all, 11Gunners have asked me to explain the match-day experience at the Emirates, how
everything goes on in the lead up and after a match and also about how life inside the club works.
I however, am just another supporter like the millions all over the world, however I have done some
media work and will try and share any knowledge I have.

Barcelona's defeat of Arsenal last night was of little surprise to the football world,
especially with Arsenal being reduced to 10 men with over half an hour to go.
What did shock was the lacklustre performance of Arsenal's key player and captain, Cesc
Fabregas. The stage was set, his first competitive game at the Camp Nou, a stadium where he stood
in the terraces 15 years earlier cheering on his idol, the now Barca manager, Pep Guardiola.
Alright, here's the scenario. An English footballer, who's talented, determined, driven to
succeed in football and doesn't mope or hang around in the dark. With the way English footballers
are managing the game, this scenario exists only once our eyelids drop and we're in the dream
world. However, Wenger's search has transformed that dream into reality by discovering the new
Iniesta: Jack Wilshere from Hitchin, Hertfordshire.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has chosen to focus on youngster Theo Walcott's improved
efficiency amidst controversy that followed the player's confession of a dive against Leeds United
in the FA Cup first leg fixture between the two sides.
Walcott, who told the Gunners' official website that diving was certainly not a part of his
game, apologized for his desperate attempt at earning a penalty in his club's 1-1 draw at the
Emirates a little less than two weeks ago.
For anyone who might have missed it, Theo Walcott had this to say after Arsenal's FA Cup third
round match against Leeds:
"I want to apologise to the managers because I actually dived. I was trying to win the
penalty.
"I had a little joke with the referee afterwards saying ‘that was my first dive, can you
tell?
The Arsenal fans and players who berated Roberto Mancini and his Manchester City side for
parking the bus last night were actually underestimating their own side and showing City too much
respect. Did they think a side who have never finished in the top four of the Premier League, who
were beaten 3-0 at home by Arsenal earlier this season, would come to the Emirates expecting to
win?
Nouveau Rich, noisy neighbours, financial dopers. Call them what you
will, there is no ignoring the threat that Manchester City are now
posing to the established elite of the Premier League. Whilst Arsenal
have played the financial tournament, going for glory supported only
by a shoe string budget, City have cared little how many enemies they
have garnered whilst compiling a powerful and elite squad of stars
that finally looks capable of joining very the best at the big table.
