Last night the Wizards hosted a presentation on their World Cup bid for the 2018 or 2022 World Cup
for members of the "new media" aka blogs. Due to other commitments, I was unable to attend the
event, but Thad over at The Back Post did attend and has TONS of great information about the bid
over on his blog.

years ago.

The Wizards have had another trialist in this week, and if a poster on bigsoccer is correct, the
player is Zahui Thierry from the Ivory Coast. Thierry has played for both the U-17 and U-20 Ivory
Coast national team. It would appear that in the 2008 season, he scored 2 goals for African Sports
Academy, his club team.

for the rest of this season. Also in the announcement, Wizards color commentator, Zoran Savic, was
named an assistant coach. Vermes will be in charge for the rest of the season as KC looks to find a
permanent head coach.

Thad over at The Back Post has the breaking news, with the press release coming soon, that Coach
Onalfo has been dismissed by the Wizards. The move comes after the Wizards embarrassing 6-0 loss to
Dallas on Sunday. Along with Onalfo being let go, assistant coach, Kris Kelderman was also let go.
That leaves Kerry Zavagnin and John Pascarella as the two remaining coaches.

Ouch!
It was the play of all plays. It was something Kevin Hartman had never seen in his long MLS career.
It was pretty darn hilarious. Check out Thad Bell's recount of Aaron Hohlbein being nutmegged while
being...nut...megged yesterday after training.

Wow, a whole week day without a post? Shame on Hillcrest. With training yesterday morning and
immediate departure for New England, we slacked yesterday. Apologies! There's a big secret we can't
yet tell you. But it's not much of a secret I guess.
Also, big props to Thad at The Back Post for his new video interviews.

I stopped by practice today, but was a little late to see Zoltán Hercegfalvi practicing for the
Wizards today, but Thad over at The Back Post was earlier and got some photos of Hercegfalvi
practicing with the team in a small scrimmage. As you can see by the photo below, Hercegfalvi will
be wearing number 20 for the Wizards.

I was unable to make practice today due to other commitments, but Thad over at The Back Post was
and has news of a new player out at practice for the Wizards today. No news on who the player is,
but could it be the lower division Spanish player or the Hungarian player mentioned in a Star
article recently?

months, they'll be cleaning up the site and breaking up the pad and in ground walls. Here's my
album for this week of the nothingness that is left.

Time for this week's player interview poll. With a good performance against the Revolution, it was
hard to pick just 3 players to put in the poll, so this week we have 5 players to choose from.
Herculez Gomez - Gomez has a strong game, helping create 2 of the 3 goals against the Revs.
Aaron Hohlbein - Scored his second goal of the season.

After this week's game against Chivas, it's time for another player interview poll. This week there
are four players to vote on, most of whom haven't been on too many of these polls.

in the plans for not only the Wizards but Honduras.

Today before the press conference, Thad was able to get a good interview with Wizards captain,
Jimmy Conrad. In a portion of it, Conrad talked about SuperLiga. One of the major complaints in the
past had been the "$1 million prize" for the teams and how that was misleading, as the players
actually didn't split $1 million, instead they split a small portion of that amount.

upcoming game against Real Salt Lake and a little of what they expect from that game.
