The movement to oust the debt laden Glazer regime is gathering pace with news that city banker and
United fan, Keith Harris, has been talking to the Manchester United Supporters Trust about forming
alliances with fan groups and a wealthy group of investors known as the 'Red Knights'. The chairman
of Seymour Pierce brokered the Thaksin Shinawatra takeover of Manchester City.

Numerous reports have one-time wunderkind Robinho fleeing Manchester City for Santos, the
legendary Sao Paolo club where his career began. The loan deal could see Santos youngsters Paulo
Henrique Ganso or Neymar don sky blue. Manager Roberto Mancini has stated that, while concerned
about a lack of depth at forward, he would not stand in Robinho's way.

Manchester City have announced the sacking of Mark Hughes as manager. The decision was reportedly
taken by the club's chairman Khaldoon al-Mubarak after a disappointing recent run for City that
forced the club's owners to rethink their long term plans. City have also appointed Roberto
Mancini, lastly seen at Internazionale, as the club's new manager.

With a majority of the first-team squad either in the treatment room or away on international
duty this week I thought I'd blog again on ownership. I know many Gooners don't give a stuff who
owns the club as long as we're successful. I for one beg to differ. Leadership and thus success
comes from the top.

The bookmakers were dreading the match at Portsmouth yesterday.
Before the start of the season, BSkyB saw this as the ideal Abu Dhabi derby, with Manchester City,
who dumped honorary life president Thaksin Shinawatra after the fraud and corruption and mass
murder and things, visiting Pompey ################

The way the BSkyB narrative was concocted, this was a Portsmouth on the up, bolstered by new
signings and financial security against the richest team in the world - a perfect representation of
all that Our Great Leader is told is good about the English Premier League.

Sam Allardyce is, for a certain profile of Premier League football club, the pragmatist's choice
as manager. If you strip away the rampant ego and the tendency to strap a Bluetooth headset to the
side of his head, Allardyce has a job that he can do. It just happens that the job is to finish
somewhere between twelfth and fourteenth in the Premier League, though.

With Thai striker Teerathep Winothai returning from his spell with Belgian side to play for Muang

Stereotypes are often harsh, but always fun. Especially in sport. And Sven-Göran Eriksson has
experienced more than most the effects of such stereotypic nonsense.
Whether it was as a cheque book manager, an untrustworthy one, a clever one, or a deviant one,
Eriksson has always had his niche in the media.

Ah, isn't buying a football club the easiest thing in the world. Look how quickly Abramovich
bought Chelsea, the Glazers bought Manchester United and the Abu Dhabi group picked up City.
Compared to the protracted nature of the proposed takeover of Portsmouth, even buying Newcastle
United may be easier.

When Mark Hughes agreed to replace Sven Goran Eriksson last summer, no doubt he knew things
would be interesting at Manchester City, it very rarely isn't in the sky blue half of Manchester,
but I doubt he'd have expected anything like the events that ultimately played out. What with the
takeover and the crazy final day of the summer transfer window, with City making 10 bids of over
ÂŁ15 million for players, it was probably the maddest 24 hours the City faithful could remember in
years.

Champions Melbourne Victory have signed Thai international Surat Sukha from Chonburi. The 26 year
old defender has played 14 times for the Thai national side and is the first Thai to have a go in
the A League.
Given the Manchester City fever that swept Thailand for a few weeks after Thaksin Shinawatra bought
them one wonders, doesn't one, whether either the Thais or Victory, daft name by the way, will seek
to cash in on his presence downunder?
