This week sees the return of Thierry Henry to the Emirates and his training with our squad will
be wonderful experience. Plus the continuing goal streak of the reliant Robin van Persie who is not
a car with three wheels, but a luxury turbo charged supercar. Robin has now scored 38 goals and
trails only Ronaldo and Lionel Messi as the best striker in Europe.
Welcome back to TGIF, just a short blog today, having just finished work. The wires are humming
with the Blatter story and I make no apologies for joining the outcry calling for Blatter to
resign. He has become the unacceptable face of apologism for heinous attitudes. His comments on
Homosexuals going to Quatar, wanting Women to wear seductive football strips and finally that
players experiencing racist abuse from their opponents should just accept it and shake hands
indicate that not only is this man out of touch, but those who refuse to condemn this man
unequivocally and fail to demand his resignation need understand that they themselves will have
their motives questioned.
Welcome to another TGIF, which because of my work commitments is now written between Friday
evening and Saturday morning. I still feel that this feature is worth producing. It gives me a
chance to round up the issues of the week and comment about anything which is exercising Gooners
over their pints of beer.
In the week that will have shareholders debating the future and with twitchers spotting the rare
appearance of Silent Stan, we must have some good news to report. Well we have to believe that we
will make the top four after making it 5 wins out of 6 apparently. The fact that there was a
Carling Cup and two Champions league fixtures in there seems to have escaped everyone's
attention.
TGIF-thank Gooner it's Friday, returns after the International break, and with the amount of
tension in the air that befits a real crisis at Arsenal. Crisis on the field through injuries,
crisis in the stands with fans divided, and crisis in the Boardroom as the prospect of a Boardroom
struggle becomes more possible than probable.
Welcome to TGIF, Thank Gooner it's Friday, which was derailed by a major computer crash courtesy
of Microsoft windows 7 Ultimate, which even they were unable to fix. But seeing as it Saturday,
perhaps I should use Berg10's suggestion of TGIS! TGIt's Saturday? There is so with so much going
on in the world at the moment, but I am going to concentrate yet again upon the plight of Arsenal
Football Club and it's beleaguered Board, as they retreat into the Laager.
Have you ever been on an emotional roller coaster like this week ever in your life? I have had
feelings of anger, fear and joy sometimes all at the same time. This week saw our famous cluib
ravaged by the media. We were given no hope and then suddenly the day after, they are singing our
praises.
Have you ever been on an emotional roller coaster like this week ever in your life? I have had
feelings of anger, fear and joy sometimes all at the same time. This week saw our famous cluib
ravaged by the media. We were given no hope and then suddenly the day after, they are singing our
praises. Football is a funny game as they say.
Well another week comes to an end and increasingly the running of Arsenal Football Club is
becoming more of an issue than the performances on the field. The clock is ticking and with 12 days
left in the transfer window, the likelihood of Arsenal strengthening to the level required to mount
a realistic assault upon the Premier League Title appears more bleak as our injury jinx comes back
to haunt us.
TGIF: nearly but so far
OK this is a teaser for the return of TGIF, I have to say that the old format was not very
interactive and it was more you readers being fed , then expressing your views via the comments. So
the new TGIF will become more interactive with the best comments in the first two hours being
responded to and included with the Blog for posterity.
