I might be clutching at straws a little, but there's a small amount of evidence to suggest that
our best results against Manchester United in recent times come during difficult periods.
Now is certainly one of those periods. After we looked like recovering a season that looked lost
as soon as it started, we are now being shown up for our weaknesses again, with the recent defeat
to Swansea feeling like another of many 'final straw' moments that we've experienced in recent
seasons; another on the long list of new lows.
While I still think overall Liverpool have played some good pass and move football this season.
Our main issue is we just don't have a clinical finisher, that player who will score 25+ goals in
a season.
£35 million really should have bought us the perfect player for this position. But Carroll is
really under porforming and just looks out of place at the moment.
Brazil has announced a massive US Tour for this summer in which they will play the USA, Mexico
and Argentina between May 30 and June.
With no World Cup qualifying for Brazil, they are the host nation in 2014, these three games
will be important matches for Brazil as they get ready for the Confederations Cup in 2013.
Together with Neymar, Santos midfield wizard Paulo Henrique Ganso is another of Brazil's
hottest prospects who is continually been linked with a move to Europe with Italian giants Inter
and Milan thought to be seriously eying his services.
However, there seems to be a new entrant in the race to acquire Ganso's signature.
While watching Liverpool take on Oldham last night, I couldn't help but notice a much bigger
deal (footballwise) going on in the media world a leaked copy of tomorrow's front page of the
Independent, claiming that Wayne Rooney might be on his way out of Manchester United that had
somehow found itself causing a big stir on Twitter.

On this week's main listening report we look back at some of the big stories from the football
world in 2011. This is part two which will focus on July to December.
In a couple of days, the winter transfer window will open amid a flurry of activity. With most
clubs seeking to strengthen their squads for the remaining half of the season, a few will be
looking to offload their most prized players.
It is no secret that Tevez is on his way out of Manchester City, however another very shocking
report is that of Brazilian midfielder Kaka.

Nothing screams "STUD!" more than this photo of Carlos Tevez and his fans at
last week's Angel Cabrera (Argentinean golfer) Classic in Cordoba. While you were
out shopping at Tesco's Express for Christmas last week, Tevez decided it'd be
best to assume the role of a professional golfer.
A coaching change at FC Ingolstadt led to an early winter break for Edson Buddle, who was sent
home until the new year. The U.S. national team striker isn't going to lay around doing nothing
during the German winter break though. He has headed to London, where he will spend a week training
with West Ham United.

Argentine fútbol has been suffering. The country's national team failed to live up to the hype
in Copa America this past summer, while Brazil's emergence as an economic power has spurred the
Brasileiro to new financial and competitive heights.
The Salary Cap has struck again.
Brisbane Roar have lost Thomas Broich, Henrique, Matt Smith and other key players in recent weeks
and as a result despite continuing to boss possession, key goals have been conceded and a lack of
attacking penetration has seem the team suffer three defeats in a row.
According to The Sun, Sours boss Harry Redknapp wants to unite Man City's wantaway striker with
on-loan City star Emmanuel Adebayor at White Hart Lane.
A source close to the talks is quoted as saying:
"People at Tottenham reckon a deal like this could be bigger than anything since they signed
Jurgen Klinsmann.

Tevez who? For the obscenely paid lineup of Man City, it really doesn't matter, as they chalk up
yet another win, this time over hapless Norwich. Aguero, Nasri, Toure, Balotelli and Johnson all
tally one, with a token goal by Norwich's Morison to prevent the shutout. They are looking tough
ahead of the Carling Cup matchup against cross town United.
It's official, Anelka and Alex will be leaving Chelsea in January. The Duo have become srplus to
needs at Stamford Bridge and Coach Villas-Boas has confirmed that the club had received their
offers to leave the club in January.
I would not quite call this a loss for Chelsea, but rather a step in the right direction as both
players are indeed past their prime.

Feliz Sabado! It's our weekend wrap-up again, and first on the menu is
Cristiano's enthusiasm for playing dress-up... típicas!
Earlier this week, your favourite Portuguese hunk (don't try to deny this, grandmas!)
launched his special CR7 collection, which features a series of his favourite
white sneakers, the Nike5 Street Gato ("cat" in Spanish),
specially-designed T-shirts in red, white and blue, a CR7 matchball and even shin-guards!
Welcome to Offbeat Wednesday, where we round up the wacky stories in football for you! This week,
read about Sara Carbonero's thoughts on her man Iker Casillas, Carlos Tevez goes home & Balotelli's
£400 000 toilet damaging fees and more!
As you may know, IkerBonero went on a holiday to Rome last week and were
snapped arriving at Madrid's Barajas airport looking every bit like the
holidaymakers they are!
A video of Seba Le Toux talking about endurance (careful, it auto-plays!). This is perfect.
Nobody on Earth can possibly be more qualified to discuss this topic. Oh wait, he just says he
works hard? What!? This is like getting superman to talk about his powers and walking away with a
quote like, "I just do it, y'know?
Jack Wilshere's successful loan spell at Bolton proved the final piece of his development. More
please...
Even before the quarterfinal draw for the Carling Cup paired Arsenal with Manchester City
(a.k.a., the Death Squad), many speculated that the reserve teamers logging time on the big stage
would soon cede their places to first team players in a push for the silverware.
Sadly, this isn't makeup it's Klaas' broken nose. Tragically, it happened on November 3rd, days
late for Halloween and the most frightening natural makeup this side of Tevez's goal
celebrations.
Of course he also has a custom mask which looks to be made of leather with a snoutish nose and
is emblazoned with Hunter across the forehead, making this easily the best accidental
after-the-fact Halloween ensemble in the history of goal poachers for the Dutch national team who
also once played for De Graafschap.
A look at the Liverpool's goals for column, despite spending £57.3m on two strikers, doesn't make
the happiest reading for Liverpool fans. Profligate against Stoke, unable to finish off Manchester
United and a draw at home with Norwich means we currently sit ten points behind City and have
scored the least goals of clubs in the top six.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp insists he is not looking to bring unsettled Man City striker
Carlos Tevez to White Hart Lane, because they wouldn't be able to afford his wages.
Tevez appears on the verge of leaving the Etihad Stadium after being handed a two week
suspension and two week's wages fine for apparently refusing to come on as a substitute in City's
2-0 Champions League defeat against Bayern Munich.
Halloween has come early for Carlos Tevez this year. He wants you to know that he will be suing
the same man who gave him opportunities to gain minutes on the pitch - in that sparkly blue suit!

Did anyone else notice that Kevin Prince-Boateng scored a hat-trick for Milan at the weekend?
Hmm. That was an odd sentence. Equally puzzling were Harry Redknapp's claims that he'd definitely
take Carlos Tevez on loan in January, if such an opportunity were to arise. I bet you would,
sunbeam. The kicker for his current employers- and I'm sure they'll love this- is that they'd once
again be required to foot a substantial amount of the Argentinean's running costs.
