* It's worth remembering that we started well. Arshavin, for all the criticism he's received today,
threaded a lovely ball through to RvP who finished with aplomb. Funnily enough, the goal worried me
slightly - scoring early can be a bit of a double-edged sword with a team that is struggling
defensively as much as we are at present, as it encourages the opposing side to attack from an
early stage.

"Today (Tuesday) is a very difficult and painful day for both me and my family. Thanks for all
the support, I'll keep working!
Sócrates is dead. It's hard to see how anyone could be surprised. It's also hard not to think

for the same reason.

The Carling Cup, once viewed by Sir Alex Ferguson as an inconvenient burden in an already
congested fixture programme, has finally won over the Manchester United boss.Successive wins in the
competition, in 2009 and 2010, are testimony to Ferguson's determination to take it seriously,
despite using it as a platform to test his emerging youngsters and give his fringe players some
valuable playing time.
Villa goalkeeper Brad Friedel moves to Spurs after his contract was set to expire this
month.

broke the league record of consecutive appearances made with 275. A testimony to his
durability.
AFP is reporting that a source who witnessed Blanc's testimony today leaked to them that Blanc
"regrets making certain opinions."
Evidently there was a poll of the French public released today. Drawing from scattered sources,
only 7% want Blanc to resign and 71% want him to stay. That, folks, is a landslide.
Agent Sturridge has been fantastic at Bolton scoring seven goals in nine matches including another
one in the victory over Arsenal and it comes as no surprise that Owen Coyle would like to speak to
Chelsea in the summer about taking him to The Reebok once again. Coyle realises that it could be
difficult.
By J Hutcherson - WASHINGTON, DC (Feb 9, 2011) US Soccer Players -- Shocked looks all around, but
the Premier League leadership didn't hang its collective head in shame when accused of
self-interest by the former head of the Football Association. That interaction came during
Tuesday's meeting of the British Government's Select Committee on Culture, Media and Sport, hearing
testimony from David Triesman.
