This is kind of incredible. Less than 48 hours after release some intrepid Cosmos fan has created a kits-and-all Cosmos team in FIFA12 based on the team that played in the Paul Scholes testimonial. That is dedication to the NYC2 dream folks.
I do wonder though if EA and the team in green missed an opportunity to make the classic Cosmos team as an unlockable team.

Paul Scholes scored a wondergoal as he celebrated his Manchester United testimonial against New York Cosmos with an emphatic 6-0 thrashing at Old Trafford. Paul Scholes approached Stretford End Flags about designing a mosaic for his own testimonial. They canvassed United fans' ideas and from those submitted a design was presented to Paul. The SEF mosaic will go all along North Stand Lower and the 18,000 cards will make up an image of Paul's face, along with the wording "GENIUS", with a faint number 18 outlining the IU to reflect Paul's shirt number.

Following a run of poor form in 2001 after being played behind the striker, Paul Scholes was dropped from the starting XI for our trip to Anfield. Scholes came off the bench with ten minutes to go but two goals from Michael Owen sealed a 3-1 defeat for United.

So angry was Scholes for being left out in favour of Butt and Veron, he refused to play in our next game, which was against Arsenal in the League Cup.
