Major League Soccer has fined D.C. United forward Charlie Davies $1,000 for his dive that earned a penalty in the waning minutes of United's 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake last weekend.

"The MLS Disciplinary Committee ruled that Charlie Davies intentionally deceived the officials and gained an unfair advantage which directly impacted the match," MLS executive vice president Nelson Rodriguez said in a statement released by the league.

No, it's not a new J.K. Rowling book, it's from the DC United v. Real Salt Lake match on Saturday night and it cost RSL the full three points. Bad Charlie...and dumb referee Terry Vaughn who had yet another terrible match, making mistakes and dumb decision all over the field.
This is the second bad dive executed by Davies this year who is falling like a rock in the eyes of American soccer fans for his blatant and honestly disgraceful cheating.

Major League Soccer had to fine John Spencer (one match, $2000) for his scathing post-match comments about referee Abbey Okulaja last week, but that doesn't mean they did anything right...not does it mean I have to like it.
I begrudgingly accept that the league has to punish a coach for making heated comments about a referee, that happens in every sport.

How many times can you draw in a season and finally find a way to hold on to three points at the end? Well the New York Red Bulls finally found a way to do it in front of over 21,000 on Friday as well as a televised national audience on Soccer Night in America.

It has been well documented in this six match winless streak with five draws and a loss starting on the road against the Galaxy until last week's crushing stoppage time draw with thirty seconds left on the watch at home against the Columbus Crew.

When the Sons of Ben decide to chant a player's name during a Philadelphia Union game, there are only two main reasons for it happening: (1) A substitute comes onto the field (i.e. Ooooooh Danny Mwanga) or (2) a spectacular play was had by an Union player.
