It's estimated that by 2031 100,000 people living in Scotland will suffer from dementia. Alzheimer
Scotland exists to help dementia sufferers and their carers. A bit of help - whatever you can
manage - can help them do that massively important work.
Thanks to @sliderulepass and @mightjustget for combining to get this one started.

We were here a year ago for the same fixture and for the same reason the first division
play-offs. Last year they met in the final rather than the semi, and both sides were going for
promotion. Cowden won it then, achieveing their second successive promotion despite a backdrop of
off-field problems which resulted in further budget cuts this year.
By J Hutcherson - WASHINGTON, DC (Apr 15, 2011) US Soccer Players -- Twenty-two years ago today, 96
Liverpool supporters died at a neutral site FA Cup semifinal played at Hillsborough. Their deaths
led to a reevaluation of stadium safety that included replacing terracing with seats and modern
crowd control methods.

Utilitarian new ground with both stand and terracing looking vaguely like small industrial
units.

Kenny Dalglish has backed the Premier League's refusal to support a Football Fans Federation bid to
reintroduce standing areas at football grounds.
The FSF launched a petition for safe standing last week.
The Federation, which represents more than 180,000 and affiliates, are presenting the petition to
Government and football authorities.
Heads You Win Stoke City 3-0 Brighton and Hove Albion (19:02:11) Ah, the Boothen roar; terracing;
Delilah; a wall of noise; a four goal thriller; Peter Beagrie; Dean Wilkins and being
unceremoniously bundled into the back of a police van for "our own safety" after the match. All
memories of the last time I went to Stoke City to see Brighton & Hove Albion play, at their old
Victoria Ground - in
Terracing.
Totally incompatible with modern football?
Or an integral part of our experience as supporters that a whole generation of fans is being
denied?
I'm delighted to welcome Aidan from SafeStandingScotland.co.uk to stand up for standing up.
I'll admit to a certain ambivalence.
Rangers v Celtic 2nd January 1971. 66 lives lost.
From the National Library of Scotland Digital Archive (the Herald's original coverage):
FIRST WARNING OF THE TRAGEDY . . .
DISTANT SOUNDS OF SCREAMS IN MIST
In the press box we had all been commenting on how well behaved the crowd had been and thinking
that Rangers' equaliser in the closing seconds had restored the good nature of their fans, ensuring
that there would be no subsequent trouble.
