Newcastle did very well to come back so well from the Brighton disaster that took place last
weekend. Danny Simpson in action at Ewood Park That 1-0 defeat at the Amex Stadium, after the
Newcastle squad spent four days in Tenerife in the Canary Islands, was not the result we
wanted to see, and put in doubt the whole mid-season break in Tenerife.

A report in yesterday's "People" newspaper contains pictures and an account of Newcastle United's
Tenerife trip last week, as Alan Pardew and his squad prepared for last Saturday's ill fated FA Cup
clash with Brighton. It contains a bawdy tale of late night binge drinking and €20 lap dancers as
Pardew and the players celebrated [.

We don't want to go on too much more about that game on Saturday, because after a while it gets
to be boring and in any case my arm starts to hurt when I have to write about it. Alan Pardew -
Newcastle have been brilliant The lads are in Tenerife, and jetted out of Gatwick, late Saturday
night after the Fulham [.

We don't think there's anything wrong with Alan Pardew taking the first team squad away on a
sunshine break for a few days in January. Alan Pardew taking a break in Tenerife Alan did that last

Guess what? We've nabbed a leaked photo of what is hotly tipped to be Man City's home shirt as
of next season and, from the evidence on show, it seems to be an ever-so-slightly darker shade of
blue than last year's affair...

Hmmm, the jury's still out here.
Long time readers will remember my Weekend Roundup posts on the 4 overseas teams I follow. This
past offseason was very busy for the Rapids so I stopped doing the regular updates, but I figured
I'd do an end-of-season Roundup on them.

Mallorca,
Getafe,
Real Sociedad,
Deportivo y
Osasuna) están interesados en una victoria del
Levante en la
última jornada ante el
Zaragoza, que mandaría a los maños a
Segunda y salvaría al
resto.

Spanish festive season HQ in Salinas del Manzano to Valladolid for a slice of Segunda Division
action.
