Following his Lazarus-like comeback and goal for Manchester City during the week, Owen
Hargreaves' rediscoverd strength in his legs seems to have worked its way up to his mouth.
The Canadian-born England man now claims that, during his injury-plagued time at United, he was
given treatments which may well have done him more harm than good.
Jack Wilshere has twice attempted to return to training, both times he has broken down. His next
attempt at a return will be in three months time.
Thomas Vermaelen has had a tendon removed and will be absent for at least a month.
It seems that as soon as things start to look more positive for Arsenal, something else comes
along to counter it, there is only one thing we can do and that is just to get on with it and come
out the other side.
We were all disappointed when Sam Ricketts ruptured his Achilles last February. It's no secret
that our squad has the depth of a kiddie pool, and Ricketts was starting to look quite good as
well. Well that was four months ago, and while Sam has made a lot of progress, thanks to an
interview with the official site, it's clear he still has a long way to go.
Defender Daniel Agger believes he still has plenty to offer Liverpool as he starts out on his
latest run down the road to recovery.
Agger played his last game of the season in early April after sustaining a knee injury against West
Brom, damaging a tendon and needing two months of rest.
He managed to play only 21 times last season through a combination of illness and injury but
believes he will come back stronger than ever.
Liverpool's topsy turvy season continues as word has emerged that captain Steven Gerrard looks
to be out for the season.
The Reds' captain suffered another injury set back in training after only returning a week ago,
and manager Kenny Dalglish's outlook is grim.
The loss of Gerrard will put increased pressure on the Reds already thin central midfield of
Christian Poulson, Lucas Leiva and Jonjo Shelvey, who is due to return in the near future from his
own injury struggles.
Liverpool's defensive crisis was exacerbated yesterday by news that Daniel Agger will miss the rest
of the season with a knee injury.
Manager Kenny Dalglish confirmed that he would be without the Denmark international for Liverpool's
final seven matches. Glen Johnson and Martin Kelly will both miss the next three weeks, as
Liverpool struggle for defenders ahead of Monday's game against Manchester City.
Kenny Dalglish was left frustrated by his Liverpool side's 2-1 defeat to West Brom after going down
to two second half penalties.
Speaking after the game, the Scot called for better communication after being left confused as to
why the penalties were awarded by the linesman.
"The only thing I would say about the penalty kicks is one was given by the referee and the other
by the linesman," Dalglish told Sky Sports.
The full extent of the damage done in Barcelona has now come to light, Cesc Fabregas irritated
his hamstring injury after just 15 minutes and carried on playing, Wojiech Szczesny also looks set
for at least a month on the sidelines with a dislocated finger. Luckily, there doesn't seem to be
any tendon damage.
Another year. Another trip to Camp Nou. Another stinging defeat. It doesn't get any easier. It
really doesn't. I felt so awful after last year's tie, but I think I feel worse this time. I'm
trying my best to suck it up and get on with it though, but apologies in advance if I get a bit
rambly.
Liverpool's young midfielder Jonjo Shelvey has been ruled out for around three months with a knee
injury.
A tendon problem will keep him out of action until May, meaning it is unlikely that the promising
youngster will figure again this term.
The England Under 19 international, who was signed from Charlton Athletic last summer, missed the
clash with Germany this week due to the problem.
PORTLAND, Ore. Portland Timbers striker Bright Dike is set to miss a significant amount of the
upcoming season after suffering a torn Achilles tendon in an exhibition match. Dike underwent
successful surgery Monday. Dike sustained the injury in the 20th minute of a preseason exhibition
against the Ventura County Fusion on Friday.

With an emphatic win over West Ham and ManUtd drawing with the Spuds, it turned out to be a
decent weekend for the Arsenal. We are 2 points off of ManUtd, who have a game in hand over us, and
Man City, who have played a game more than us. The best part of it all is seeing our team play the
wonderful football we know they are capable of producing.

Here's this morning's batch.
Mexes-matosis.
According to reports in the Belgian press Thomas Vermaelen is to undergo surgery on Tuesday for
his achilles problem.
Apparently a small tendon close to the achilles is causing the problem but he hopes this will
cure it and he'll be back by March. Optimistic but let's hope he's right.
Thanks for Andrew from Sport.
According to media reports in Holland, AC Milan have decided to send U.S. international and A.C.
Milan defender Oguchi Onyewu to defending Dutch champions FC Twente on loan for the remainder of
the season. FC Twente will have the option of making an offer to permanently sign Onyewu in
June.
