To those who like to stalk from the comforts of their own couches, cast your eyes over this preview
and plan your television schedule accordingly. This is the new show, "MLS 36″, which follows a
professional league player around for 36 hours straight. Just when you thought you'd seen every
possible talent, reality and reality [.
The Memorial Day holiday is upon us and that includes a full slate of games on national
television. In addition to Major League Soccer, the USMNT will play a friendly versus Scotland at
Everbank Filed in Jacksonville. The Scotland match will be televised by NBC Sports Network and
will feature the network's lead soccer tandem of Arlo White and Kyle Martino.
On the road tonight, so I thought I would re-run an interview from February looking at the MLS
schedule. Back live tomorrow.

We thought it would be worthwhile to talk to Brad Pursel, Major League Soccer's Vice President of
Club Services about the process of putting together the league schedule.
The complete Euro 2012 TV guide for UK and US viewers - originally posted on Soccerlens.com
There is nothing quite like an international football tournament: the best players, teams and
games packed into a three-week beautiful game marathon.
For most of us, the not-so-exotic climes of Ukraine and Poland will be avoided but the Euro 2012
extravaganza can be monitored closely from the safe haven of our living rooms.
In 2011, the MLS schedule was released in February. MLS fans eager for league news got a
surprising gift on Thursday when the league released the entire 2012 schedule more than one month
earlier than last year. For business junkies, the most interesting part of the release is
probably the announcement of nationally telecast games.
Major League Soccer and the Chicago Fire released their full schedule today. Here are some
highlights. Full schedule after the break.
Chicago is slated to appear in a total of 13 nationally televised broadcasts. The Sunday, July 8
game vs. LA Galaxy will be on ESPN. The October 6 game vs.
MLS finally announced its 2011 schedule along with its ESPN/ESPN2 national television games.Â
The schedule is likely to change somewhat,, but here are some quick business thoughts.
We'll start with the league's biggest broadcast partner, ESPN, which will televise only 21 games
over the course of the regular season.
Some quick hits from around the league. In Kansas City, the Wizards will participate in a
"Bald is Beautiful" event at Mercy Children's Hospital in Kansas City. Four Wizards will get
their heads shaved by cancer patients at the hospital and the Wizards will provide game tickets to
a number of youth patients at the hospital.
The 2010 World Cup edges closer to the finale as the quarter finals wrap up this weekend headlined
by Argentina and Germany. Then the semi-finals are schedule for the mid-week, as it all leads up to
the Cup Final next weekend. The MLS is back in full swing and is all over the television schedule
this week with a double header tomorrow night on FSC, then a bonus ESPN game between LA and Seattle
to celebrate the 4th.
As I sit in my hotel room, watching the Olympics in what I can only assume is French, I realize
how much I miss watching football. (Upon closer reflection, it's not French; it's German. On
Eurosport. Go figure.) Football is pretty much the same in any language. Last night, I watched
Marseille advance in the Europa League in French and the language difference didn't matter.
CHICAGO (Jan. 27, 2009) – The U.S. Men's National Team's highly anticipated match against
England in their opening game of the 2010 FIFA World Cup will be broadcast live on ABC HD on
Saturday, June 12 at 2 p.m. ET from the Royal Bafokeng Sports Palace in Rustenburg, kicking off
coverage of the USA's campaign in South Africa.
Sorry that the weekend television schedule is super muy mucho tarde, but it has been a busy week
here in Buenos Aires and I got up at 4:00 am local time to pull this together this morning, so try
to cut me a little slack and I'll try to be more timely in the future.
With the United States finished and Mexico getting close, the number of matches on television in
the U.
With an international week upon us, there will be no action, televised or otherwise, in most of the
world's top domestic leagues. Despite the international break, however, and despite the fact that
Brazil, Mexico and the United States are participating in World Cup qualifiers, those three
nations' domestic leagues all will see reduced-strength clubs playing in local action.
Unlike the senior team, Coach Rongen is announcing his roster almost a month before the first match
of the U-20 World Cup. Yup, kick off for the Americans in this youth World Cup is September
25th.
GOALKEEPERS - Sean Johnson (Central Florida), Josh Lambo, Brian Perk (UCLA)
DEFENDERS - Gale Agbossoumonde, Kyle Davies, Jorge Flores, Ike Opara (Wake Forest), Anthony
Wallace, Sheanon Williams
MIDFIELDERS - Daniel Cruz, Mikkel Diskerud, Dilly Duka (Rutgers), Jared Jeffrey, Aaron Maund (Notre
Dame), Brian Ownby (Virginia), Dillon Powers (Notre Dame), Michael Stephens (UCLA)
FORWARDS - Sam Garza (Denver), Peri Marosevic, Brek Shea, Tony Taylor (Jacksonville)
I've highlighted the college players in the above list.
If you try to follow as many leagues as we try to follow every week, you find that you are
constantly learning new things. This week, in compiling the information for the weekend television
schedule, I couldn't find listings for Manchester United or Liverpool on either FSC or Setanta USA.
What could this mean?
This morning is a reminder of how quickly we've gone from famine to feast when it comes to
watching televised soccer in this country.
Here it is around noon on Wednesday and as a DirecTV subscriber I have a choice of a UEFA
Champions League mix on Channel 461 although at the moment it's only showing two of up to eight
games (why I'm not seeing the game between Moldova's FC and Greece's Olympiakos since I subscribe
to Fox Soccer Channel is a mystery to me though).
Once again, the soccer world shifts into a higher gear, this being August and everything, and once
again, we have new entries into the weekend football television schedule. This week, the two new
additions of note are the Bundesliga on GolTV and Ligue Un on Setanta USA as the German and French
leagues begin play this weekend.
You know that I've complained a lot recently in the weekly television schedule entries about the
lack of quality matches taking place over the weekend. This week, however, I have to say that if
you can't get into what we are being offered on Saturday then you need to start watching polo or
something because football isn't for you.
First it looked like the Spanish clubs weren't going to play, but now they are. And then it looked
like the Italian clubs were going to play, but not maybe they'll go on strike. It's really
difficult to tell what's going on from one day to another, but we're going ahead as if everybody is
playing this weekend because that's the way I like it.
Everybody is back in action now. Well, not everybody, but almost everybody that is normally
televised in America. You know, except the Americans. And the Argentines, I suppose. Still, most
everybody is back now. The television schedule is pretty full up again, anyway.
Despite the fact that almost everybody is back, there are no matches this weekend between WCR
Top 25 Clubs.

This will be the last weekend television schedule posting for awhile because we are getting
ready to head over to southeast Asia for two or three months, including a month in China, where I
won't be able to access my website for updates.
That's the future, though. For the present, there are two huge matches this weekend.
We weren't going to do a ranking this week because nothing relevant to the rankings has taken place
outside of Great Britain since before Christmas. Still, there were lots of changes the week before,
particularly in Italy and France. And, plus, you deserve it.
So once we decided we that you deserved a ranking this week, we had to sober up in order to write
it up.
The opening weekend of the 2009/2010 Premier League season was a success on the pitch and off
the pitch. More than 350,000 football supporters packed the grounds around England despite the fact
that many of the clubs with large capacities played away such as Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester
City and Sunderland.
I mentioned yesterday I'd be attending the final of the SuperLiga, which is
best explained as a contrived North American Europa League. A capacity crowd at Toyota Park (it
would be generous to say it was actually "sold-out"), the $1m prize and two of the best teams in
North America right now, the Chicago Fire and Tigres UANL, gave
us all the ingredients for a pulsating final, tied 1-1 at the end of 90 minutes
Unfortunately, the contrived nature of the tournament was revealed when to the surprise of most,
the final went straight to penalties after the ninety minutes were up.
W Connection prepare for the season PUTTING THE " " IN "FULL ROSTER" So the gang's all here. Apparently. And by here we of course mean cosmopolitan Orlando, Florida. Toronto FC has released their official 30-man Florida squad and... hey... that's a... bunch of people, now isn't it?
Shuan Maloney converted a penalty after a rash challenge by Martin Skrtel but a Steven Gerrard
cross found Luis Suarez who shot into the net at the start of the second half. But moments later,
defender Gary Caldwell found a deflected shot arriving at his feet and he made no mistake with the
opportunity provided to seal Wigan's first victory at Anfield.
As we do every Monday, here is a roundup of some business issues from Friday and the weekend
that we didn't hit in our previous posts. We'll start in WPS, where,iIn conjunction with primary
partner PUMA, WPS debuted the Women's Soccer Training Collection last week. A number of PUMA/WPS
athletes were part of the launch of the new soccer themed clothing line.

With five days left until the start of the new season, at least some of the television schedule
still seems to be in a state of flux. The Football Conference is reported to still be in
negotiation with a broadcaster (rumoured to be Eurosport) regarding a package that is said to be
worth £70,000 per club, although Blue Square North and South clubs are now likely to be missing
out on the £15,000 that they had been receiving from Setanta.
