"Going Up" "Northern Life" special 1984. 30 minute Tyne Tees Television special programme from
1984, where David Burton reviews Newcastle United's 1983-4 promotion season. Featuring Arthur Cox,

Sporting KC today announced a new TV deal with KSMO today. Not only today did KC announce that KSMO
will be broadcasting the 2012 season, but KSMO will also be broadcasting the 2013 season as well.
There's plenty of good news out of the deal that was announced today.
First, all 28 games that are not being broadcasted on national television will be shown live on
KSMO.
Amazingly enough, Footiebusiness is about to start its 4th year of covering the business of
American soccer. It has been a great ride and one that I hope to continue to enjoy and
improve. When I started the site, I had no idea how long it would last, whether there was any
interest in the business aspects of American soccer or whether anyone would read what I wrote.
It is Super Bowl weekend! So we respectfully nod at that and move on with the biggest game on US
television this weekend. Chelsea faced United at Stamford Bridge, AVB lost out on all three points

This match saw the welcome return of Captain Coloccini, and also the absence of Yohan Cabaye a

Early in the 1990′s, when we were deprived of being able to watch a lot of live Premier League

By Jason Davis - WASHINGTON, DC (Jan 19, 2011) US Soccer Players -- Fox, the national broadcast
network that counts iconic properties like The Simpsons and the National Football League among its
assets, blazed a new trail by airing a live English Premier League soccer match on Sunday. Soccer
getting the full televised sports treatment on a network that isn't an opt-in premium purchase, but
a basic part of most Americans' television rotation, cannot be.
Way back somewhere in the annuls of time; before the awe inspiring stadiums and the anti-sweat
kits, before the mega millions and the sponsorship deals, before television and radio and the world

Arsenal-Manchester United Live on Fox - NYTimes.com
Sunday morning will be the first time that an EPL match is shown live on network US television.
It is part of the lead-up to the Fox's NFC Championship coverage, includes a 30 minute pregame and
features two of the largest fanbases in the world.
This midseason league match is a big test about how big club soccer can be.

Television has had a profound influence on football: the players, agents, business models of clubs,
the relationship between league play and international football - you name it. And few television
programs are more loved by fans than highlight shows like the BBC's
Match of the Day, which

After retiring at the end of the 2011 season, US National Team alum and Seattle Sounders goalkeeper
Kasey Keller has a new role with the club. He will be joining play-by-play voice Ross Fletcher in
the booth for Sounders television and radio broadcasts. "It's exciting for me to be involved with
our broadcasts and stay involved with the club," Keller said.
Google and Apple may not exactly be the first names that spring to mind when looking for
alternatives to challenge Sky's dominance of sports broadcasting in Britain, but it should be no
surprise that two of the giants of the tech and online world are eyeing up sport as a way to lure
consumers into their new offerings.
In the past few weeks, I've been reading several comments from readers who are complaining how
expensive it is to watch soccer on television. Of course, it's all relative. Based on the quantity
of games shown, it's probably the best ...

Un jugador argentino en un programa brasileño es extraño, poner a dominar el balón al
futbolista , es casi una obligación. Que este deportista a las primera de cambio destruya el
escenario , no tiene precio. De lo mas curioso en el año pasado.

Saturday Bristol Rovers - Aston Villa 12pm - Fox Soccer The FA Cup enters the Third Round proper,
with Brad Guzan and Eric Lichaj's Villa getting an away date with League Two club Bristol. Part of
the fun of the English cup competitions is seeing stadiums that normally don't appear on US
television. Memorial Stadium in Horfield, Bristol is mostly standing areas, since Bristol has never
been high enough in the English league system to.
Mirror: Why magical FA Cup 3rd Round weekend is still the perfect antidote to New Year

I don't know about you, but each January I find myself poleaxed by the New Year Blues. This
black dog, though, doesn't arrive as soon as the Bank Holiday has ended and work once again grinds
into motion.

each weekend. Throughout the week there's plenty of programming, on television, the Internet and
radio, to keep us informed and entertained about ...

Valencia - Sevilla 4pm - GolTV It's the Copa del Rey in Spain, a tournament most American fans are
probably surprised to find on television. Since it's our only option, here's some background. We're
in the round of 16 phase, with Valencia beating Cadiz 4-0 and Sevilla beating San Roque 3-1 over
two legs to get here.

Alan Hansen has been forced to apologise after unwittingly referring to the black players
affected by the ongoing Suarez and Terry racism cases as 'coloured' not once but twice on Match of
the Day last night.
Hansen, who was making a point about the strides made vis-a-vis racial tolerance in the modern
game, said:
"I think there's a lot of coloured players in all the major teams and there are lots of coloured
players who are probably the best in the Premier League.

Darren Bent has apologised to Villa fans after a photo of him out Christmas shopping in
Cambridge was circulated around Twitter while his teammates were busy losing to Liverpool
yesterday.
It's worth mentioning that Bent had been ruled out of the match after suffering a thigh injury
in the week but, after undergoing two hours of physio on Sunday morning at Villa's Bodymoor Heath
training complex, he was under club doctor's instructions to go home and watch the match on
television which he did, until he got bored in the second half and popped out for some bits.
" But I was watching the television at that moment, and I was gobsmacked."
Andre Villas Boas showing flashes of Jose Mourinho channeling that man's legendary persecution
complex. It was getting entirely too sedate at the top. Where are the legendary spats witnessed
between Rafa Benitez and Sir Alex?
Everybody who comments, be it in print or on the radio or on television, makes mistakes. It
doesn't matter who you are or how much you know or just what the subject is: Sooner or later you
will slip up. And so I don't want to seem to be going after some poor talking head, some
exceptionally easy target, just for the sake of it.
With Arsenal and Liverpool reportedly keen to swoop for the 95-cap German forward when the January
transfer window re-opens at the end of this month, Lukas Podolski has reiterated that his future at
FC Cologne is undecided.
The Germany international scored both goals as Cologne salvaged a 2-2 draw at Stuttgart yesterday
and, speaking afterwards, implied that his future plans were far from settled.
Advertising standards An unfortunately positioned television microphone gave one of Manchester
City's sponsors an entirely different line of business. Perhaps Thomas Cock should be Jamie

bock it, folks. Or maybe it was pitchside instruction to Mario Balotelli and also [.
1. Where do you play Jones?
Phil Jones could have never envisaged such a start to his Manchester United career. Despite
playing more minutes than anyone else, there is still the same burning question surrounding Jones
– where do you play him? Certainly, it would appear that central defence is his strongest
position but it is fairly clear that, this season anyway, his chances there will be limited.

By Tony Edwards - San Jose, CA (Nov 22, 2011) US Soccer Players -- In today's 5 Questions, Tony

television. How complete was the Galaxy's performance on Sunday evening? You could maybe point to
needing better finishing, but Los Angeles was better in every facet of the game.
Over a week ago now, but I've just stumbled across the Bambi Awards now. Whats a Bambi award you
say? It's essentially the German BAFTAs. They recognize excellence in international media and
television "with vision and creativity who affected and inspired the German public that year", both
domestic and foreign.
Following on from his attack yesterday, Gus Poyet has dug himself an even bigger hole, by
basically claiming that Luis Suarez called Patrice Evra a "negro" but shouldn't be punished as it
isn't a racist term in Uruguay.
"I know Luis very well and I will go to court if someone wants to prove he's not racist," he
said.

With Newcastle riding high in the Premier League, the cynic in me suggests that Mike Ashley may
have bided his time to announce that St James' Park is to be renamed with 'immediate effect' as an
exercise in PR damage limitation but there we go from henceforth, the Toon's ground will be
officially listed as the 'Sports Direct Arena'.
Some fascinating comments by Barcelona president Sandro Rosell today in which he wants to see
the Spanish league cut from 20 clubs to 16, limits placed on wealthy foreign owners and a more

Speaking at the International Football Arena conference, Rosell said:
"My opinion is that our league has too many clubs.
