Wednesday World Cup Qualifying Gameday

A full slate of World Cup qualifying games around the world is scheduled today.

Right now, for instance, Carl Robinson of Toronto FC is leading Wales against Russia and the sensation of Euro 2008, Andrei Arshavin, on Fox Soccer Channel.

Televised games later today include the Netherlands against Macedonia at 11:30 a.

Giovinco scores a Golazzo and the Azzurrini ease past Honduras

Italy defeated Honduras 3-0 in their first group match of the 2008 Summer Olympics and got off to a great start. Pierluigi Casiraghi actually surprised many with his starting XI, as Salvatore Bocchetti started alongside Domenico Criscito in the center of defense, Lorenzo De Silvestri started over Marco Motta on the right, and probably the most surprising change was Robert Acquafresca starting in front of Giovinco and Rossi instead of Tommaso Rocchi.

NBC has unveiled what looks the most comprehensive Web site I've seen yet that covers the men's and women's soccer tournaments at next months Olympics.

Hey, you'd come with something like that as well if you'd invested jillions of dollars for the rights to the Olympics

Olympic Soccer - 21 Days and Counting

With tonight's friendly between the US Women and Brazil (join us at Coester's at 9:00 pm!), I thought I'd take some time to update you on what to expect in terms of broadcast schedules and related info.
