Ex-Whitecaps head coach Teitur Thordarson.de los Cobos is out of a job after Fire axe. We're barely a third of the way through the season but already poor form is drawing consequences.
Two head coaches were let go from their positions yesterday as their clubs seek an immediate
turnaround in fortunes.
For one post, I will speak my mind. It will be a sort of verbal diarrhea, because I don't think
I'll be containing anything I want to say regarding the Whitecaps coach being dismissed. This post
is entitled "Let the Chaos Reign" not only because of my fears of what might happen to the
Whitecaps, but also because I won't be talking about just the dismissal of Teitur.

GOALS FINALLY FLOWING FOR UNIONOne of six times Union celebrated on Saturday.Every time someone has dared praise Philadelphia Union this year, it's been met with the same
opposition - "it won't last" and "they can't score goals". Well guess what? It is lasting, and the
goals are beginning to flow.
As I was pondering the idea of writing a pre-match preview of the Whitecaps's match against FC
Dallas, a lone piece of reasoning slipped into my usually empty mind. This match against FC Dallas
was important, very important. While I was optimistically predicting a 3-1 victory for the
Whitecaps before the match, instead the ended 2-1 for FC Dallas.

There have always been excuses. For every loss or draw, there's been a fairly obvious excuse which
is presented and accepted. Against Philadelphia, Hassli was sent off. Against New England the ref
was crazy, and Hassli was sent off again. But what about now? What excuse can we make for this
poorly played match away against Houston?

Before the match against Sporting Kansas City, I wrote with great joy five reasons why the
Whitecaps would defeat Kansas City. Yet, when the match started things weren't looking as positive
as I had tried to make them out to be. And when the Whitecaps found themselves 1-0 down right
before halftime, things were not looking good.

Eric Hassli scored two on his debut for the WhitecapsIt was a fantastic victory. It was a victory
for the fans, the players, and all of Vancouver which has now earned respect on the MLS stage.
While Toronto aren't one of the best teams in the MLS, they're still tough opposition. A 4-2 win
will raise the confidence but also alert the team to improve the defensive side which could've been
better.

Every loss will be a stepping stone, especially in this first MLS season. The final preseason
friendly against the Colorado Rapids was a strange one: while the Whitecaps wanted to show the fans
a strong team, the players and coaches also wanted to make sure nobody got injured before the big
debut against TFC.

Finally Whitecaps fans's prayers have been answered! Fans continuously asked for a designated
player and a forward, and now they've got both in the form of Eric Hassli. But... are they really
that happy? I'll admit it, when I saw that the Whitecaps signed Eric Hassli as their designated
player, I was slightly disappointed.
The Whitecaps captain, Jay DeMeritThe Vancouver Whitecaps captains have been announced by coach
Teitur Thordarson. While I was almost sure that Jay DeMerit would be the captain (because he is a
strong leader, an experienced player, and an amazing person to follow on Twitter), I wasn't too
sure about who would be the vice-captain.
We've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly in the preseason matches from the Whitecaps. The good
came right away, with the 2-1 victory over Real Salt Lake. The bad came against the Seattle
Sounders, the 105 minute training match which finished 1-0 for the Sounders. And the ugly came
today against Chivas USA, especially in the first half when the team was too defensive.
