US National Team alumnus and Kansas City Wizards technical director Peter Vermes is now officially
the coach of the club. Vermes took the team over on an interim basis with former US National Team
assistant Curt Onalfo was fired on August 3rd. "I have a strong understanding of where we are
currently and where we need to go, and I am grateful to have the opportunity to lead the team on

I guess Peter Vermes liked coaching enough after all. Today the Kansas City Wizards are set to
remove the interim tag from Vermes title and name him their full time head coach.
The Wizards will formally announce Vermes as the club's head coach at a press conference later
today at the Wizards Swope Park Training Complex.

The Fire has confirmed an AP report that midfielder Cuauhtemoc Blanco will be leaving the club
at the end of the year to join Mexican second division club Veracruz.
Blanco, who played for Veracruz in 2004, is in the final year of a three year contract he signed

FC Dallas GM Michael Hitchcock was relieved of his duties on Tuesday – a move every bit as
surprising as Michael Moore making another movie about establishment greed in America. (They won't
