With matters outside of football keeping Roman Abramovich busy, it was great to hear that he was at
Cobham to see the players train on Saturday, to see AVB for a chat about things and to attend the
game on Sunday. Roman even popped in to chat with the players for 30 minutes after the 3-3 draw
with United.
Multiple outlets are carrying the story that Genk starlet Kevin De Bruyne is at Cobham
undergoing his medical ahead of a 9 million quid transfer to the famous CFC. More, after the
jump:
London calling
You already know the drill. KdB will come to Chelsea this summer, after finalizing paperwork
tomorrow which sets his price and contract in place.
Another major component of the Revolution attack will not be returning this year, as Danish
newspaper Jydske Vestkysten is reporting that Rajko Lekic has signed a six-month contract
with Lyngby. Terms of the deal will reportedly be published on Monday.
Lekic is the second Revolution striker this month to take his services elsewhere.
If Newcastle cannot get Adrian Mariappa in from Watford before next Tuesday evening, who are the
other targets Newcastle are pursuing? Cesena's Yohan Benalouane available on loan We know
that a number of their top targets like James Tomkins are not available in January, but the 22
year-old could be available in the summer, if for example West Ham don't gain promotion back to

Of all the defensive targets (allegedly) pursued by Newcastle United, Ajax's 24 year old Belgian
defender and captain, Jan Vertonghen, is by far the most interesting proposition. At a potential
cost that will almost certainly be over £10 million along with the abilty to command a Coloccini
sized salary package he shpuld be really However [.
After the news that Kevin de Bruyne is set to sign for Chelsea before the transfer window closes
and then immediately loaned back to Genk for the remainder of the season, today is about some
Brazilian targets.
First up and as reported the other day, there is Willian the 23 year old Shakhtar Donetsk
midfielder.
It seems that Watford have turned down Newcastle's bid of around £2M for their 25 year-old
center-back Adrian Mariappa. Adrian Mariappa £2M offer turned down by Watford There was a report
in the Sunday Sun two days ago that Newcastle would try to bring in the player this week, and

With just two weeks of the January transfer window left, Tottenham Hotspur yesterday made their
first signing. Iago Falque's loan from Juventus was made permanent for a fee rumoured to be around
£1.5m. The young Spaniard was immediately sent out on loan to Championship club Southampton.
While Loic Remy may not be available until the end of the season, if you believe PSG's new
manager Carlo Ancelotti, there are a number of options this month in the striking department for
Spurs to consider.
Big spending PSG attract a lot of attention at the moment and when quizzed about possible
targets, Ancelotti gave reporters a list of names that are supposedly being touted around clubs by
their agents.
Manchester city headed 3 points clear as they recorded a win over Wigan although the match
certainly won't go down as one of the greatest City performances of all time. I got a rather uneasy
feeling just before kick-off and it proved to be quite a nervy game all round as, I think it's fair
to say, City scrapped away to get a 1-0 victory in a half empty DW Stadium.
Last November I held the Scottish Football Blog's first - perhaps only - blogathon.
One post an hour for 24 hours with topics chosen on Twitter and by fellow bloggers.
All in aid of two fantastic charities: Alzheimer Scotland and the Homeless World Cup.
24 hours, a few energy drinks, too many cigarettes and 17,000 words later and I was done.
Nicol thinks Boyd would be great in Houston
Former New England Revolution coach Steve Nicol has high praise for both Kris Boyd and Dominic
Kinnear. Speaking to the Scottish Sun here, Nicol said "I haven't spoken to Dominic about him.
We're mates but we don't speak about players like that. You don't hear Sir Alex Ferguson on the
phone to Harry Redknapp to discuss his targets!
The 2012 MLS SuperDraft will start today at 11:00 AM CST. There have been rumors of trades
taking place but so far every team has stayed pat. If you have missed some of our pre-draft
coverage, be sure to check out how teams have fared in the Eastern Conference and Western
Conference between 2008-2011.
Somehow, it works out so I am off during the MLS SuperDraft 2012, and thus I've taken on the
responsibility of live-blogging the first (and maybe) second round. It's being aired on ESPN2, TSN2

barring any trades or moves, are on the clock for the 1st overall selection in the 2012 MLS

"Sadly, our recent run of poor form has seen us slip alarmingly down the table and the Board
felt it was the right time to make a change.
This right here is a shocker. Eh, not really.
The club today confirmed that it had agreed a fee with Bolton for Gary Cahill. It's not a done

We should have higher expectations every week... I don't think it's clever to be excited by
fourth, fifth, sixth or whatever. This is not now, we still have to play many games... Lots of
stuff will happen that is surprising so we have to make sure that we are on the good side and
actually surprise people with our results.
